5G will only mature more by then.
Early adopters normally will not enjoy 5G full potential. Android device are normally cheaper, and thus people will change after 1 or 2 years.
While iOS support until iPhone 5S.. So invest in a 5G phone will need you to wait till 2021... by then, 5G is more common.
So Apple may be late to the party.. but not much customer will be angry about it.

Where in the world do you get or need 400 Mbps speed? 5G is useless for most people as few people needs cellular data that fast and even fewer people are covered by 5G signal strong enough to deliver that speed.

Apple sent Intel by email the comp... moreYou should post that link because as far as i know, QC DID sued Apple but they refuse to show proof because they "fear to be robbed" by the jury and everybody involved on that case. Its laughable tbh.
And Apple will pay whatever royalties* an own 5G modem generates, the issue with QC is that they (Apple) are not willing to pay more than everybody else (on 4G) because QC signed a FRAND agreement in the first place. Heck, even Samsung (and various OEM more) agreed with Apple on that one.
*Even the royalties on the case vs QC are being "paid" on a deposit until the case close. Apple just refuse to pay the additional charge QC wants (% per total cost of the device).

Qualcomm suit against Apple include patent infringement which are Intel supplied SoC
There will be imo a bigger hike in specs in 2019 to "distract" people that not 5G
In 2019 my next phone will be 5G capable, what is the point of investing in a 4G now which delays my 5G to 2021
Again as stated in another post patents already exists. Apple even if it makes its own modem it will still have.to pay whoever owns the patents

I bet that when Apple uses these 5G modems in the future, they will present it as a "MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH" or "INNOVATION" or "FIRST EVER IPHONE TO HAVE 5G". hahaha this company is just like Google who keeps on capitalizing in its software but has poor hardware. Poor quality control and poor camera (for the iphone). I hope Huawei and other chinese brands can overtake these overpriced companies whose only good in marketing but with less innovation.

Apple is not going to pay more than other companies for those modems/royalties, it shouldnt be a surprise.
Specially the royalties as those are cover on the FRAND licence which is why they are on the court right now.

Most of this crap comes from the management and higher ups postions of the company.
Apple is also have petty stubborn management. There engineers can easily support Nvidia external graphics card. Many customers demands it, CUDA processing. Their engineers confirm can integrate.. but someone in Apple higher-up refuses.. due to some bad blood these two companies have in the past.
They can easily get their hands on any tech and pay the loyalty, but they choose not to. Either petty or greed.

Sorry, folks. 5G is cancelled. Apple couldn't reach its 'high standard' and certain 'technology limitation'. You will hear this news within 2 years.

5G isn't going to be deployed anywhere in the world in a large scale this year and probably not even next year, there's many issues with antenna's they don't work well in cities right now. So any 5G advertising right now is purely LTE advanced.
