So Venom's 21:9. It doesn't run in full screen on my phone (Motorola One Vision). I am using Amazon Prime.
Am I missing something?

About media content size in social media apps you are wrong, as it depends on the width of the screen in portrait mode, and 6,5 inched Xperia 1 is wider in portrait than, for ex 6,1 inched Galaxy S10, so content is bigger size than on S10.
About bezelless trend that makes you strech your thumb to pain levels just to reach navigation bar... yeah, its completely stupid... no wonder Sony still gets mobile design awards with its bezeled phones.
Anyway, dont mind my stance, I aint getting any 5.5+inch screen device, including Xperia 1, as those are unusable with one hand, and I definitely would prefer some 16:9 aspect device... but I cant seem to find any released this year, or probably in the future. Which is a shame.
But having to choose between 18:9, 19:9, 20:9 and 21:9, which all have their own compromises, ..I definitely believe 21:9 is the best choice.

Before that they challenged the photography market by releasing mirrorless cameras. Sony will release whatever device they want to release because they can, and they don't care much about our opinion. Sony is just being Sony.

And sony shouldn't release case with belt clip,just like the old days, because caring the phone in the pocket is not that functional.it is gona be great

Explain it then to me please, how is its elongated 21:9... moreThe only benefit from 19:5, 21:9 aspect eatio is that it shows more content and less swiping, but compared with 16:9 with same screen size, on 16:9 content like videos and pictures is much bigger than 21:9.but stil this wide aspect ratio is only good for movie and some reading.and hou about the nav buttons and the status bar.?it is just unreachable with one hand. Just to much compromises

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2019Why mobile gamers appreciate 21:9, even though no game supp... more?? Excuse me, but I dont follow your logic... Users will see as big as posts and photoz in soc apps as is the width of the screen... and it is wider than todays numerous 2:1 aspect 6 inch screen devices.
And Of course gamers will appreciate 21:9, mobile onscreen gaming is one of the few aspects that widescreen ratio actually really makes sense and brings novel immersive experience to users. Ask any gamer, 100% will agree widescreen is best, especially with games like Fortnite widescreen coming to Xperia 1.

I'm a sony fan since the ericsson days but i'm disappointed by them for not trying to be the best on their design. It's sad to see sony mobile pull out of stores in most South east asian countries.
Sony have the most potential to be on top.
*Best display: (P-OLED) but 21:9 is not for everyone.
*Best camera: Sony have great camera module but it's funny that they can't get the best out of it but other phone manufactures do.
*Battery: In my opinion Sony have great battery optimization but they always choose mediocre capacity where competition gives us 4000-5000 mah.
Software: Sony have the lightest skin on top of android which close to stock
Updates: Sony is fast on software updates.
Bezels: They can do better. Top and bottom bezels should be symmetrical.
Lastly, Where is the bezel-less compact phone sony?

Easily the hardest to use ever, and don't forget the usual tiny battery and giant bezels.
