Also, modern 19:9 is the same as old 16:9, because the new ones have a lot less bezel, but the 21:9 becomes incomfortably tall and too narrow, at least for me.

For multimedia content and video games I prefer a wider screen. Watch some short video, etc. But watching movies on a narrow and small screen? That can not be good for your eyes, it can end up damaging your eyes over time. If I travel I prefer to carry my laptop or tablet. In the hotel there is always aTV and at home everything of good/big size.

Notsure, 08 Apr 2019Thanks, but no, thanks! I don't keep a ruler in my pocket, ... moreOh, but its quite usable... more portrait scroll screen estate on apps, such as yt, fb, wtsapp etc, etc... more landscape screen estate in gaming, widescreen movies, and especially split screen multitask...
I think its much, much better idea than all those notch and punchole 18:9, 19:9, 20:9 screens out there...
People use those, but hate those..., finally theres a better smarter 21:9 option without notches or screen holes.
Would prefer 16:9 ofcourse, but seems none of those are available anymore. So 21:9 is the future.

Thanks, but no, thanks! I don't keep a ruler in my pocket, sorry! Also, I need width in a lot of apps, so I wouldn't use these rulers even if all movies were 21:9, I'd better keep black stripes and make the phone usable in a dozen other scenarios, not only movies.
Sony, HTC, LG = Failures with bad ideas.

I think that this screen ratio is just a try to differentiate themselves from the zillion other phones which are look just the same, and literally no one will say "yeah, finally I can watch 2.35:1 movies on my phone without the black borders"
