How many of you are old enough to remember the first touch displays, the special pens, and all kinds of issues?
I see these first ones mainly as proof-of-concept, and sure there are (and most likely will be found) all kind of oddities that have to be ironed out (no pun intended) before the technology becomes ready for the mass market.

Mishandle, 18 Apr 2019These people got free from Samsung for reviewing. They have... moreWhile it is not very flattering to have a smartphone go bad so fast, I noticed many of the reweiwers putting it inside slim or regular Jean pockets like smartphones. I am not sure the hinge can be take that sort of abuse or bending. Plus if the screen protector was not to be removed, they should not have let it be removable an dapllied a much stronger glue on it.
More than anything else, I an suddenly wondering whether there will ever be a phone that is designed to fold like this. By Samsung or Huawei or Xiaomi or Apple or Sharp or by whoever else. Huawei didn't even let reporters near their device because it was already bent at various places (and most of the time it was also switched off). I think Samsung should lead the charge for abandoning such ludicrous technology altogether.

LG Superfan, 18 Apr 2019Wonder if Mate X will suffer from the same issueMate X already has been hands on & previewed by various of reviewer 2 weeks ago. No issue.
This is just 3 days after hands on, 5 units affected. Galaxy Fold folded in, Mate X folded out, but durability seems the opposite way lol.

Early products are bound to have problems like this for average consumer I advice to stay away from Foldable phones for atleast 3 years then it will be ready for average consumer and will be.much more polished and cheaper

Samsung sent their foldable phone to like 30 YouTubers, yet there are like 5 reported cases of malfunctioning displays. That's like 16% failure rate.
Just imagine the magnitude of it when the phone reaches consumers...

sending 20phones for review and 4of them break its not a small thing
that means every 5th device will break
considering note battery problem was 1 in 1000 thats a huge problem for them

For me this is stupid application of foldable display. The device is huge folded and there is no sense to exist. Maybe Motorola approach with their rumoured RAZR is more reasonable.
I watched few videos with reviews of Galaxy fold and I don't believe this display could live long. And again, the entire concept is silly.
Of course there are people who will go for it, but the idea in this shape will fail.

There is one case where the reviewer DID NOT REMOVE the film.
But let's cleverly not mention it and give samsung a pass.
Just like how JerryRigEverything lashes out on Apple but quietly passes over S10 soldered charging port.
Hypocrites.

Galaxy Note 10, 18 Apr 2019Actually it should be cheaper than normal mobiles after thi... moreThe phone is not done to be affordable for your average joe. New product mean new process of fabrication means far highter cost due to the need of specific assembly machines/workforce.
This phone is just for press/whealthy geeks that want to show off with the first foldable phone available on the market and for Samsung to show what they can do with the technology so far.
The one that spend all its economy in this and expecting it to replace its daily driver is just the dumb one that know Nothing about technology and product manufacturing.

Samsung should take the S10+ or the Note and make it a laptop-like smartphone with real keyboard buttons.
You don't even need 2 displays. Just the main display that slides to the right, revealing the keyboard.
I get what the Fold is trying to achieve, but it feels like a concept so far.
