What really matters is to have the actual phone in hand to do a proper evaluation. For example the camera. Again you can't do that let alone do a true camera comparison if the phones not out yet which the Xperia 1 isn't. Again until then paper specs don't mean jack shit !!!

For now, the biggest Sony camera sensor & biggest pixel size along with latest tech lies inside Huawei Mate 20 Pro & P30 Pro (IMX 600 & IMX 650, 1/1.7" sensor size, 2.0 micron pixel size in 10mp mode, with RYYB tech on P30 Pro). Previous Xperia using IMX 400 1/2.3" sensor size with 1.22 micron pixel size. Even Xperia 1 hasnt out yet, Sony already state its using 1/2.6" sensor size with 1.4 micron pixel size. So Huawei still gain the latest Sony tech. Simple, Sony is making money, & Huawei pays them. Sony itself dont use their latest sensor for the sake of bigger profit.
Now on the software side, its a different story. Now i dont know which one is the dumb one.

as i kno... moreOlder P20 Pro has ISO up to 102400, P30 Pro has an ISO 409600. Both are superior than all previous Xperia. U need more reading.
No one can touch P30 Pro in terms of low lights photography.

as i know previous xperia can reach ISO51200, it is more than the P30 pro, so xperia can take amazing low light photo too

Was away from internet during ... moreGreat comparison & review there mate, just like what i saw, XZ3 is indeed oversharpen & a bit oversaturate (XZ2 colors more natural). People dont see it unless they own other branded phone to compare with, just like u did.
P30 Pro is indeed a camera phone beast, especially when it comes to low light photography, no one comes close (not even Pixel's Night Sight). Now this Xperia 1, cant wait for the results, lets see.

First, i actually meant fir forest, not pine. As english is my third language i used the wrong word. If you ever been in one, you should know it's generally dark and gloomy. But in winter and with plenty of sunlight i couldn't imagine place with more contrasts. :)
About P30 Pro and XZ3. I generally liked XZ3 camera. Plenty of detail (even a bit more than 950XL) because of conservative noise reduction. Some noise is not a problem for me as long as detail level is good. Pleasant colours, though a bit oversaturated. Only thing that i didn't like was excessive sharpening. I understand, nowadays people like those oversaturated and over sharpened pics as they look good in social media but i prefer more laid back post processing and possibility to tweak photos later by myself.
P30 Pro certainly has more natural (some would say dull) colours by default. (You can opt for more saturated photos by choosing colour mode though.) Sharpening is kept in check.
10mp res pics are pretty great for everyday photography. Detail freak as i am (i am carrying 808 as secondary phone with me until today), 40mp mode is gods blessing. Sure, in this mode edges are pretty soft and it's usable only in good lightning, but better than no 40mp mode at all. :) And IMHO it takes better and sharper pics than those 48mp full res cameras, probably because of larger sensor and bigger pixels. Strangely there's colour shift if you switch between 10 and 40 mp modes, probably because of RYYB sensor. Not much but it's there.
Quality of optical 5x and hybrid 1+x zoom is close to sci fi.
But yeah... P30 Pro beats all other nowadays phones hands down in low light photography. Usually you even don't need dedicated night mode to get better pics than Pixels night mode pics. All in all, i am pretty much satisfied with P30 Pro camera. (Ah yes, i totally forgot that you can shoot raws and that's a big thing. ;) )

I guess you had a problem with your carrier... coz my XZ Premium had LTE ON all the time, and when the carrier here in my country started to support VoLTE it was ON automatically on my phone... i didn't have to activate anything.
And no... the dialer has no problems at all... since my first Sony Xperia Z it still fine.... and the phone still working without any problem.

It's withdrawing to gain a bit of energy from major losses in the last few years, and it's going to be working well since many people are actually liking the mid range Xperia 10 Plus, and that'll surely bring better sales than previous XA lineup did, even if not yet as impressive as Xiaomi or Huawei's very successful mid range lineup.
