Also, Sony worked hard to absorb its mobile division into its electronics business, so the loss numbers look less embarrassing in the financial reports.
Keep working hard.

If you're spending that kind of money, might as well buy a Huawei P30 Pro.
That said, I think the Sony phone will be better at audio and video.

This Xperia 1 has an entirely different camera setup as compared to previous Xperia iterations.
You see, even the mid rangers Xperia 10 & 10 Plus had better outputs with their new camera systems than the previous XA lineup, and the same can be expected on this flagship phone.
You know, if Sony worked that hard enough to make their mid range phones to have better image quality, then it's sensible to say that they'd work even harder for their top tier model.

This is "take it or leave it" info about HDR and lowlight photography on Xperia.
I know it is true.
And I dont have any refference to prove it directly, as there is absolutely NOT ONE official phone camera review that offers EVEN ONE SINGLE Xperia lowlight test photo with HDR active.
Just photo posts like those, from actual users on Xperia fan pages.
You want to question it or not believe it...well, thats just fine with me.
But you should maybe instead question Arena or DxOMark, or etc...., why they just make some daylight HDR active photos for their Xperia reviews, but never give samples of Xperia lowlight photo tests with HDR active.?

An increase in size of a smartphone camera sensor is inevitable because the image processing algorithms are close to being fully matured and there's only so much software can do to the image quality at this point, plus larger sensor means shallower depth of field so it gets harder for a camera to focus on a person's face correctly. It's good that Sony is bringing a new technology to a smartphone camera field, this forces other manufacturers to implement the same or similar feature to their phone cameras as well.

If one spends enough time for the environment to have entirely different lighting just to toggle HDR on and off then that's not a good comparison. So even if he was actually using XZ2 Premium for both photos, I wouldn't say the comparison is valid. I won't go any further on this matter because I honestly can't be bothered to contact the owner of these photos to check the EXIF data, and I apologise if I offended you in my first reply to your original comment. But as Shui8 said above, you need to make a proper reference to sources if you want to prove something.

all these defenses of sony fans mean nothing to the fact that sony mobile has been dissolved and they are not making money anymore. in the end, what matters to most mobile users is the design of the device, and admittedly they were good at it before. it is a little known fact that sony-ericsson designers were actually involved in designing the first few iphones, and their first xperia phones with sony-ericsson brand were really aesthetically eye candies. oems can brag about this and that and true enough this can drum up profits, but most people just end up admiring how good looking a device is. they needed something revolutionary in design and the xz3 was supposed to be the start of it, but they did not build on it and insisted on this "kaizen" process that slowly catched up on them.

1 uses oled from Samsung.
The devices with LCD have screen from LG, JDi and Sharp.
All units of XZ2 Premium use LCD from LG

Let's talk about it's probable inability to make VoLTE voice calls on a USA carrier, it is a Nokia "phone" you know. If you don't appreciate the superior call quality of 4G LTE over a 3G connection or know about the other advantages of VoLTE then skip over this and continue talking about the camera.
I purchased the Sony XZ2 from Best Buy and immediately brought it to T-Mobile. None of the T-Mobile staff were able to activate VoLTE on the phone. Yes, it connected to their LTE towers with ease, and surfing the web was smooth and rapid as expected. But the phone was unable to make calls over the LTE connection and the status icon would change from LTE to 3G as soon as the call was connected.
Another factor regarding Sony smartphones, they have so far been incompatible with the Google Phone dialer app.
If these two historical issues were corrected on this forthcoming Sony phone I would consider purchasing it. But I am not optimistic.

and make a logical deductive observative conclusion about that XZ2 Premium HDR lowlight results I posted too...
There is no need to be sceptical, as you ve never seen lowlight HDR Xperia photos, just because revs dont ever use HDR in Xperia lowlight testing.
