It was the time when I still don't consider 4K displays for flagships to be a major necessity, but now that phones are coming in at larger screen sizes, then it should be a given for the screen resolution to also improve.

The clarity of the content simply looks surreal once you try a 4K HDR smartphone. Visuals just get a massive upgrade from what we think is already good enough.

      2 - Yes sure I would've done that, but then it made me realize that watching 4K contents on a non-4K display would be weird, since at best, the display would only be able to show off the content in the highest resolution of the display panel itself.
      At this price range, it's pretty much safe to ask for proper 4K resolution already, otherwise what's the point of releasing 4K contents, or even creating 4K contents through the phone's cameras.

            One Premium has most advanced LCD, its successor (if 1 is their phone of 2019) has most advanced oled.

              Sooo... The OnePlus 7 Pro display may be THE best. QHD OLED with HDR10+ support with 90Hz refresh rate AND no notch or camera hole in a "budget" flagship. Feels like a dream come true. UFS 3 must be pretty expensive but hella fast. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to UFS 2.1 in OP7 if it actually has any impact in real-life performance.

                Removing jack does not make the device any more waterproof.

                  The MicroSD card is not necessarily for us to have MORE space but it's an easier and quicker way to transfer our movies and FLAC audio to the phone. Where using a USB cable hooked up to the computer would take hours to upload our high quality files where we shouldn't be using the phone during that time, it takes less than a minute for phones to read the data from the MicroSD card after just popping it in and letting the apps scan for them. Not only that, considering OnePlus has been using dual SIM on their phones since the OnePlus 3, Huawei already provided a solution to the world that doesn't make the phone makers change their form factor in the form of the Nano Memory card. Do we like the NM cards? Not really but would it be great to finally have that expandable option on phones like OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi, and even APPLE!? Absolutely. Now there's no excuse for phone companies to not offer that.

                  As for the headphone jack, ever heard of sound to video latency? Ever notice how sound quality is 10x better wired than wireless? (Why else do you think wired charging is faster than wireless?) Ever think about the people spent a huge amount on studio-quality headphones only for companies like OnePlus to crap on it because they removed a feature people didn't want to be removed? Finally, did you ever think, even with Type-C headphones and dongles, that we don't want to abuse the USB port with charging the phone and using the headset? (I mean, it's not like this phone has wireless charging...). Sorry dude, there's no reason to remove the headphone jack; ESPECIALLY if you can't remove the battery or offer an IP rating.

                      Xiaomi uses the same imx586 and does worse than S10.
                      Xiaomi has always had better photos than OnePlus.
                      S10 5G has ToF that not is only used for better background defocus but to improve AF.

                      S10 can be already found about $760 (8/128). When OP7P reaches shelves the s10+ will be already below $900. And Xperia 1 will have price cut too before end of july ...

                      Both far better than 7 Pro ..

                        He probably does not know that HDR10+ is just the Samsung version of Dolby Vision.
                        Since Samsung does not supply screen for tv of other brands, no way it is going to happen.

                        8 bit screen is no future, the great TVs have used 10-bit for a while already.

I have 5-years of photos and videos on my P20 Pro, tons of apps and have about 40 GB to spare. Headphones jack? really. Ever heard of bluetooth or usb-c adapter? and about IP68 - OP released that it's waterproof but they don't waste money on IP certification which kinda makes sense. Better display, better performance, better battery, better stock-like Android OS, much more faster updates...that's what I want from a premium smartphone.

                                  The ONLY thing that OnePlus can boast is their stock-is AndroidOS build, and much faster and longer software support. Imagine if Samsung released the S10e, or S10, or S10+, or S10-5G tomorrow but with the AndroidOne platform... yeah, OnePlus would be ruined.

                                        When people mocked OP for using FHD, fanboys said QHD was gimmick and FHD was more than enough and best fpr battery endurance.
