Samsung, you were the first, it's good and we all got your proof of concept. Now sit back and take your time to make this an actually usable phone.

[deleted post]So Samsung can brag about
"The World's first commercially UNavailable foldable smartphone"
I doubt they are going to make brand ads on that....
And Royole can brag about
"The world's first commercially available foldable smartphone"
and they do, see e.g. https://www.royole.com/en/flexpai

This is why I like Samsung, but saying that...
They hyped this device so much that now it seems like another failure(anyone remember Note battery fiasco?).
They did the right thing sending preproduction units to reviewers but they should not be setting any release date until the product is ready.
I had(and still do) owned their galaxy devices and always appreciated the build quality.
The fold is an experiment which so far had somehow failed.
Thumbs up for trying Samsung, but a bit more research is needed.
This is a new tech and frankly I don't see masses being interested or happy even with a final product.

Isn't this really misleading article?!.. it's not postponed "indefinitely"?!.. they just don't know a firm release date for another few weeks yet. As far as I'm aware?!

Well something like this was expectable.
When Samsung is trying something completely new it always ends this way.
Mark my words we will see much more Samsung failures and defect innovations in future.

Don't innovate under pressure...and use (beta) testers maybe? Why even send out the fold to vloggers if you obviously not tested it with real cutomers?! Can't be that hard can it? As for me, Im no vlogger or tester, just a regular person crazy about phones, and ye I get a new phone and see every flaw in like seconds...I wonder how those phones even get tested...every phone has obvious flaws...the fold is just unusable it seems. Use testers, not vloggers!

How immature this product must be for them to have to make such a move. If it weren't for the reviewers, they would've released it in this state and caused inconvenience to most of their customers.

They should have done it the American way. Blame the customer and let the complainants die of old age during decades long class action suits. :)

folding phones would be impractical until they get graphene based screens on one. most of these billion dollar companies are resting on their laurels on breakthrough techs though, so who knows when that will ever come true
