19 May 2019
The phone launched on T-Mo US this Friday, is available for purchase in India and is coming to Europe next week. Any takers?

What the heck is the point of an AMAZING screen if your phone is going to live in its charger which will then degrade the battery in a year? OnePlus certainly targeted 'settled' folks like you.

Not worth it to me but good to see unique selling point midrange phones giving more options to the consumer. If want the best looking screen in the business get this. If you want the best point/click camera in the business get a 3a.

Here in Slovakia the cheapest cost 766 euros and the most expensive 896 euros.

I'll start my comment on-topic. If I were looking for a new smartphone right now, I'd definitely consider the OnePlus 7 Pro. And this would've been a good option in the poll: "I already have a phone that does everything I need". With that missing, I had to go with option 4, there are better flagships out there. I currently use a Note9 as a daily driver. Is it a better flagship? That's debatable. But I'll dig into that later.

Thoughts on option 3, waiting for the OnePlus 7T Pro... boy, that's a mouthful. It's a nice thought, but I don't know how likely it is to happen. Ever since 2015 (with OP2 and OP X) OnePlus have been a 2 phone per year company. Launching T models this year would mean 4 phones. The increase may not seem big, but it would be double than what they did in previous years and it remains to be seen if they have the resources to pull it off. I don't think so. But maybe they do, with all those yearly price hikes they've been doing from the start.

Starting to go slightly off-topic, I've seen several comments berating the lack of a microSD card slot. Anyone who's a fan of the brand or does some research would know that, save for the OnePlus X, their phones have never had this option. While I don't think it's impossible to see it implemented in future OP models, given their history, it's highly unlikely.

As for the lack of a headphone jack... I thought I needed it. It's one of the reasons I went with the Note9 instead of the OP 6T. But then I got a Fiio BTR3 bluetooth dac/amp and never looked back. For me, wireless is the best way to go for street use.

Use case: winter. I'd keep my headphone cable under my jacket, to keep it from getting snagged in other peoples' coats or purses on the bus and subway. But that limited my ease of using the phone, since I keep it in my pants pocket. If I had to text a long reply, or use google maps or browse the web for something, I ended up having to disconnect the headphones every time.

Use case: summer. I feel uncomfortable wearing the headphone cable under my shirt, and keeping it out in the open, it got caught up in stuff all the time.

Mind you, I'm not bashing the 3.5mm headphone jack. For home use, I reach for my Oppo PM-3 planar magnetic headphones. But when out and about, wireless on LDAC or aptX HD codecs is more than enough.

Another thing mentioned in the comments is the OLED burn-in. I have to ask... what are you guys doing with your phones?!?! :)))) I previously used a OnePlus 3 for 2 years straight and never had any issues. Yes, it had an OLED screen. I'm aware burn-in is a known weak spot for OLED screens, just saying that it doesn't really happen with normal use. Truth be told, I never used the on screen buttons option on the OP3, and I switched to gestures on my Note9 as soon as I got android pie. So I never had something displayed on the screen 90% of the time, that could actually cause burn-in.

Sorry for the long post. Can't insert potato.

                    Peace!

Smartphone is all about screen. You are using screen mostly. There is no better screen on the market now. That is why I am waiting for my Oneplus 7 Pro.

All the missing features aside, the biggest disaster is 7 Pro's size. I mean, pretty much ALL the reviewers say the phone is too large and uncomfortable to hold... What was OnePlus thinking?!
