Huawei heavily dependent on U.S. semiconductor products, Intel server chips, Xilinx programmable chips for networking and Broadcom for switching chips. Hardware have its own ecosytem. It not something you can produce and invent overnight without patents pending.

Nevermind :) Just checked, and totally forgot Google pulled an Apple last April with Google sign-in prevention (!) for "non-certified" devices. It's just that Xiaomi, Meizu, Smartisan etc. apparently comply. Huawei though... fun ride coming :D

Problem is, they may have to pull it from the app for devices sold in the U.S. Or they'll get into legal trouble. Private chaps buying from Aliexpress and the likes are one thing, big buck importers are a different league

I'll tell you more, dunno about right now but several years ago, domestic Chinese market Meizus, Xiaomis, Oppos, Smartisans and even Huawei had a "Google Services" app in their pre-installed app stores :) I didn't get GPlay on my device initially but downloaded it from "Smartisan Market", no biggie, no BL unlock, no root or similar shenanigans

If you read into it Trump's decision wasn't unjustified!
Read into why Huawei is considered a risk!
Not the company as such. The Chinese push for 5G.
Also read into how the WW2 was fought! WW2 was ALL about spying on each other using telecoms.
Now suddenly 90% of 5G is coming from communist countries which force the companies to share their data with them!
When the UK asked Huawei to remove the backdoors from their 5G and other systems which transmit data to the Chinese government they said they can't do that but they can let the UK have a server which will pass through the *encrypted* data!!!
Also look how Huawei hired key corporate and ministry of defence people form the West!
That on top of the fact that they have been caught shipping phones with a hidden background app that sent texts and calls to a server in the chinese government every 2 days. Plus the fact that the founder of Huawei was in the People's Liberation ARMY! He was a military technologist.
I'm sorry but I don't trust Huawei. Plenty of companies around. No need to risk it. Samsung, LG, Sony, Apple etc.
Not sure why people get so fanatic about it.

sounds liek a good thing to me, i bought xiaomi 8 and it has a lot of google malware installed
google photos, gmail etc. and cannot uninstall becuase its "system app"
