Brutan, 21 May 2019There is no approved evidence against Huawei but government... moreI'll explain it as simple as 1+1. First, is not just their mobile division, there're proofs of industrial espionage on other segments like the residential and industrial networking hardware. In Asia and South America their growth was astonishing on the last decade, the same is starting to happen in Europe. With the 5G platform and the demand increase in US vs the offer, they would surely win an important market share. But what means that market share? Means they put their name on something somewhere where there wasn't room before for that. This would trigger acceptance for other products they sell - including the mobile division. So US decided to battle on all directions, what is mentioned on this article is just 1 battle outcome from that small war. I can say for sure that they are not just using some American companies IP for high-end networking devices but they are having it with backdoors fit for purpose for some of their government monitoring. The same goes with their mobile division, Google services or security compliance will make those devices safe as is at their in-house made HW components that the malicious instructions are set and unless you have a deep knowledge of networking you wont understand those at your home traffic, worst is to perceive anything on a go. Voilá!

Anonymous, 21 May 2019Will China take counter-action to ban the sales of iphone i... moreChina already took "counter action" a long time ago, no western company can even begin to dream entering their market without lengthy approval from the government. Plus, if the government wants them out, they are thrown out of the country without notice or appeal.
There are many arguments as to why this is a bad move from the US to go after Huawei in this fashion, but that one aint it -- in fact, it's the only one that may support the action, although unfair to Huawei.

Trebla, 21 May 2019Does huawei have signed agreement with Google? If yes, D... moreThis is "force majeure", no one anywhere can be compelled to break the law in order to comply with a previous contract. By definition, the law stands while the contract does not. Compensation would have to come from those responsible for the law change, if the law is deemed unlawful (ie., violates the constitution or trade agreements).

Android has been great, but seemingly Google is planning to monopolize it. Unlike iOS, Android is open source from the beginning, but as the version increase, the ecosystem of Android gradually changed.

No play sto... moreNot too longa ago google started a new thing where devices needed to be certified to be able to properly use Google apps. All they really need to do is to go back on this and then Huawei devices can install play store etc easy as pie.
Loosing all of Huawei's users to a different app store is a big loss for Google.

There is no approved evidence against Huawei but government began to raid . It reminds me of Iraq war were after they destroyed most of that country couldn't find any nuclear activities . I can smell bribery from Apple to US government . Isn't that odd all these happened after Huawei Took Apple place ?
The short term loosers are customers and the long term looser would be google . For sure other companies may think of an unandroid solution when they see such a weak provider .

Anonymous, 21 May 2019Sony Mobile fans rejoice. Trump has just thrown you a lifeline.Sony does not comply with the buyers demands in product developing process. Sony can not yet compete in a price/quality contest ,it just cant compete with top of the line products. All it has in the sleeves is displays nothing more. And believe me I am realy sorry to say that because they started big ,they were the first to implement water resistance in smartphones ,pretty good cameras and decent battery life in their starting lineups ,but nowadays I can not understand what hapened to them. They are a big player in professional camera market , they are the main seller in the smartphone camera sensor market so I fail to understand why aren`t they the leader in smartphone camera also.

Anonymous, 21 May 2019950 was a great phone. Except for having windows inside. I'm wrong from my Lumia 950. It's not that great. SD808 inside it can't handle anything smoothly. The QHD display is a burden for the SOC. battery is tiny, needs To be charged 4/5 times a day. Gets hot like a frypan. The only Good thing is the 20 MP Pureview camera and Windows 10 inside it.

This will result in the world getting a wake up call and hopefully stop relying on the US for stuff, this in turn will speed up their already declining "empire" . They will probably manage to piss of the EU (even more) till that idiot is finally kicked out of office . Oh but yey for American arrogance. We will probably get a new Android fork out of it, Google will lose more of it's monopoly on the rest of the Android phones.
I am assuming the EU will treat this as a warning sign as well

Anonymous, 21 May 2019Today is Huawei, tomorrow may be Xiaomi or Oppo, and day af... moreDon't think so, Huawei is the one that makes their own processors which gives them a chance to build hardware backdoors which may be very difficult to next to impossible to find, while the others can't. Besides Huawei was the one growing so impressively fast that they would have been number one on sales later this year, overtaking samsung, no other way to stop them, they are too good at what they do.
