chester, 22 May 2019Lol...Huawei funeral came fast... R.I.P Huawei.... so ma... moreThe Huawei lose is the less important, or at least not as important as other consequencies of the trade war between USA and China that will occur in the upcoming months and years with serious consequences for both and other countries. So I do not think the subject has any mercy.

This is something people don't seem to understand or care, unsure which is worst!
I believe is in our best interests to ensure Telecom systems in the west are built and controlled by the west. Having close ties to Chinese government as Huawei has really does not sit right to me with a company that has grand designs on the worlds communications.

Microsoft, apple, google facebook... last company that did not want to do that (lava mail) was shut down by us government. The people who made public what usa government does were arrested. Don't be a sheep

ARM cutting ties with Huawei will only affect future architecture designs. Current ones are still valid and usable:

"While HiSilicon and Huawei are free to carry on using and manufacturing existing chips, the ban would mean the company could no longer turn to ARM for assistance in developing components for devices in future.

HiSilicon's upcoming processor, Kirin 985, is due be used in Huawei devices later this year. According to a source at ARM, it is not expected to be affected by the ban. However, the next iteration of the chip has not yet been completed - and is likely to need to be rebuilt from scratch, the source said."

What is clear is that looking into a far future... Companies around the world which have enough capability, should now start new designs that don't depend of USA patents and others that could be problematic from any country. It'll be not easy and will take a long time but now sure is necessary. Too much power from a single goverment with global consequencies.

The global market need more independent designs and competitors that favour better prices, customers and avoid global collateral damage due to few egocentric presidents and goverment fighting for the control of information and trades where citizens are the last shit to care.

Hopefully, this mess will promote investments in new designs and technologies that aim to be completely independent, regardless of the country.

I will glady jump to Huawei.

People should understand how it actually is in China. Google got out of China for one big reason. The Chinese were asking for a backdoor in its services there. As a result any technological company in China has to allow a backdoor that allows the Chinese Government to keep an eye in it. If they required companies like Google to do so, imagine with their own companies there. People keep rallying behind Huawei. I understand. Their products are good and cheap. And that is why they are mostly getting the people votes and sympathies. But there is something deeper at play here and people should read/understand more about it. Do not let emotions get the hang of you. Understand the situation. Both sides are wrong. One for imposing such a dramatic ban when there are clearly other solutions and the other for getting funds from the PRC. Huawei was not a powerhouse not so long ago. It rose to fame due to extreme funding from the PRC which is one of the reasons making the Americans worried about spying stuff.

How come ZTE got Android back but Huawei can't?

Huawei should consider RISC-V. And this is exactly why open-source is the way to go always, you do business with proprietary technologies and you are put in this situation.

Kangal, 22 May 2019That's what I thought initially before this was even announ... moreWow I have just seen the Steve Bannon link, ok I will take that as gospel

Steve stated killing Huawei is 10 times more important than getting a trade deal with China

The major point of that trade deal which USA wanted was the USA could raise tariffs for a perceived or actual breach, China could not retaliate (as it it doing now)

So we have the most narcissistic President ever on this planet, who not only won't cooperate with Congress, resisting ALL Congressional subpoenas...

Because Speaker Pelosi stated today DT is involved in a cover up, he walked out if a meeting re infrastructure.

Essentially DT can't work under these phoney investigations so there will be no Infrastructure spending until all these investigations close

We know that DT now sits on the largest ever National Debt and increasing because he lopped off nearly half of tax rate from 35% to 21% so less revenue

Multi Nationals only pay tax when the money is held in a USA bank account
Many like Apple had overseas (non USA) bank account so in addition to 14% saving a sweetener was a further reduction
Apple liable for Corporate Tax @ 35% when earned did not pay years later @21% but less

Multi National defer paying tax until a lower rate, this deferment was not closed, they can do this again

This is hostage with a gun saying hostages will be EX*CUTED
China cannot and will not sign any deal until Huawei is restored

Can you imagine DT signing any agreement if shoe other foot Apple were banned

DT has sent Pompeo and others around the world stating Huawei is a threat to security, it now wants China to close down

It's not going to happen and as we all know DT does not do apologies or reverses
How is Huawei not now a security threat

AnonD-834088, 22 May 2019Huawei going bust now then, more enemies than freindlys !It'll be not the only one. Some from USA will do soon too, and other severely affected around the world. Everything at its time... Less if some goverments start to have a common sense, something that seems not going to happen. Much rivalry and hatred accumulated. The global trades will shutter and will restructure in other ways from now as it has already happen but slowly.

Nothing good for us as consumers since prices will skyrocket over a long period of time or permanently. Well, we'll have to thank Trump for everything. Although I suspect that he will rather be hated by many forever.

Some say ohhh i don't matter i have money. Till social movements from people that don't have enough, as trades of food, etc, will be affected too, starts to happen, as those sadly are a lage percentage in almost all countries and a majority in general around the world. When things go out of control, more than one without worries will cry.
