When the US turns nasty - which it does without even thinking about it - the results are worse than China has so far managed since the end of Mao.

Are you really that naive or you think it's natural that USA can spy over everyone and if others do it then thats something extraordinary and surprising that there are other countries that do the same. Google, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter know more about your then your closest friend. And well it's what America do as from there we have the word bullying from and most of that sort of the culture.

ZTE secretly sold US tech to Iran and North Korea, in violation of sanctions, and got caught. Huawei got caught selling stuff to Iran. If you want Americans to buy your phones, don't sell stuff to their enemies. You can't play both sides.

I think the best plan for Huawei right now is to be more like Xiaomi. They should sell their phones at low prices so they won't be forgotten and would be mostly forgiven for not receiving updates or not running Android. They will get enough profits to pay for the materials and manpower and other costs but won't gain much money for themselves. They can then at least survive on the market until the situations get better. It's time for a new beginning.

I am intrested in what will be the next move. I mean, the Chinese will definately have their own cpu fabrication in the future. Maybe not reliable at first but I am sure it will become comparative in the future.
Seems that the next viticm will be apple. Imagine what could be like by banning the app store?

How about all the foreign companies that got into China, started getting popular, only to then get their entire business models copied by Chinese startups, and eventually China imposing unreasonable rules and tariffs on the foreign ones, until they got them out of the country?
China bullies absolutely all foreign companies, but when one of its domestic companies (which copied other businesses btw) is being bullied back, everyone loses their shhht.
Huawei deserves all of this. Xiaomi as well. And all other Chinese manufacturers who want to trade outside their country.
That is, until the Chinese leader decides to stop bullying foreign companies and let them develop in China.
