They add minimal features (that are almost usesless)
And claim that it is a new Android version with new name
The only reason that they are making this is to make you feel that your phone is obselete with very old version

Also I don't see why foreign OEMs would go for this new OS if Google Apps (like Maps) aren't there.

Epic had a killer app, their lame fart knight game. I don't see such killer app for that "other" OS that would get people to change, and then would get devs to work on their platform. Without it, this "other" OS will never be popular

If I can get a good deal on Mate 20 or P30 series I am jumping to Huawei like Gsmarena said Pie latest and will last you next 4yrs easily (coming this from kitkat user) and camera and hardware is best and resell is not important for me as I dont sell phones and this issue will definitely be resolved its only so Trump can get loads of money from China

Notsure, 26 May 2019I bet those who voted jumping ship don't even have a Huawei.truth be lol..

Besides China don't have Google apps still they have Android phones. So it won't affect much for Huawei's Chinese market.

Xiaomi phones didn't have play store at the beginning, we had to sideload it. Maybe we will have a option like that then it won't be a problem.

And I don't think it is any worth upgrading the OS. Never versions aren't super feature rich anymore.

I really do not understand the tendency to move OIS from flagship to PRO version. Why should one pay (to chinese goverment, military and intel services?!?!) for extra storage, ram... etc enthusiast level features?
Xiaomi with its crippled Mi 9 at least give a damn about our eyes and working on OLED PWM sulution.

This definitely US bullying Huwaie and not China, I hope China pays back

Of cuourse I'll keep my Mate 20, it's just plain awesome and just one in a long series of great Huawei phones.
The suspected spy threat is nothing but a blatant lie by Trump and entirely made up of hot air. Trump himself already confirmed this when he said he would consider a trade with Huawei recently.
This is solely done to harm Huawei's reputation and bring their sales down. Samsung was already forced to use Qualcomm's SD chips in their US versions, because their phones would've been banned if they hadn't done that. Huawei refused to be bullied into using SD chips, and that's why Trump came up with this blatant lie of the supposed spying.
There was already a 90 days delay made, and I'm sure this will resolved soon.

I hope Huawei and others will learn from this by creating an OS or at least Android version that's free of spying Google bloatware crap that you can't even uninstall.
They already have this in China, and it works just fine. My previous smartphone was a Honor Note 8, a China import, as it was only available in China. It came without any Google garbage, what a glory! The Huawei appstore was already very good (it was much, much better than the Huawei appstore on western phones). Installing the Playstore on it was super simple, just running a single app, and everything worked perfectly fine after that.
Huawei should bring that to the west. They could just upgrade their apstore a bit more and make it a general appstore, so Samsung etc. can add their apps as well.
