Samsung Galaxy Note10 will come with physical buttons after all, but no headphone jack

01 June 2019
Samsung did test a design without the physical buttons, but it didn't pass the company's "rigorous testing."

10 years ago of course headphone jack was very important. If you still stuck there then wake up.

Due to my work, I meet lots of people, and under 5% of them, or even less use headphones, and maybe 5% of them would care if they were wired or wireless; and SD cards use even less, then think if that is a relevant percentage for a manufacturer.

Note series becomes nowadays very boring. It just borrow previous Samsung models hardware's and cameras and re package it with a stylus pen and call it Note.

I am going to get the One Plus 7 Pro 5G when it is available.

Samath N8 808 owner, 01 Jun 2019Guys, I have a question. Can there be open 3.5mm magnet ... moreOf course not, 3.5mm jack is analog connector, not a wireless receiver, but even if it was possible, it would make zero sense as it would be more expensive and use more space (magnet+transmitter).

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2019Yes, right now these are the phones to look for. But i expe... moreRespect? Nah, there's no such thing as "peer pressure", they are the biggest manufacturer on the market, nobody forced them to remove a feature (And if they were an insignificant manufacturer like Sony or HTC...well, then it would make even less sense. either way, the jack is a way to get ahead of the competition, you just can't get anything out of its removal). There's just ZERO excuse for such dick move. They don't respect me as a customer, hell, they don't even respect themselves. So i don't respect them either.

                Guys, I have a question.

Can there be open 3.5mm magnet attachment?
I mean, on one outer side of the phone, a magnet sticks the headphone jack to the body and transmits the audio signals... is it possible?

Its definitely possible, but will this result in distortions or magnetic intereferences in audio quality... because the jack remains exposed to air...

Unless someone finally comes up with a working 2 in 1 adapter with a 3.5mm port and type-c port.

They kept the headphone jack in flagships the longest and I respect them for that. I always knew they will follow anyway, just like with notches, out of peer pressure it seems.

Phones like Asus Zenfone 6, Lenovo Z6 Pro, Nubia Red Magic 3, Xiaomi K20 Pro, etc will give you what you want.

Mainstream flagship phones have different priorities instead.

Now do some more rigorous tests and find out the removal of the headphone jack is a bad idea.

I no longer care about the jack, but for the love of the almighty God, please don't put a camera hole on the screen!
Either put back the super slim forehead or don't bother having one at all, simple as that!

Also Note is not the smallest pocket phone so why to bother with cables. Good move by Samsung.

Andy93, 01 Jun 2019"...what it will be missing out on will be the 3.5 mm headp... moreWell, that one did not have the S Pen to be kept inside, they might say. Yet, I am on your side. Maybe not 5000mAh, but 4300 is attainable, while keeping BOTH the jack and the S Pen. They already have the S10 5G with 4500 and the Note9, with smaller dimensions, with 4000mAh. No excuses.

"...what it will be missing out on will be the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Something that this South Korean tech giant has retained on its flagships despite other brands ditching it in the name of bigger batteries."

No, they ditch the jack because they don't care about the consumers, the battery excuse is total BS. Lenovo P2 3 years ago had a 5,100mah battery and a headphone jack and was only 8.3mm thick.

There is absolutely no excuse for removing the headphone jack
