Wonder y nokia dun do Android?
if u can't beat em..join em...
not much windows users too...
see Samsung? they do heavily on Androids...best selling model is Note and SG2.

just look at the no. Of comments in one day! Compare it with the other posts......every symbian news attracts so many people.....users of other platform too comment here just to relieve the pain they got from android and ios,any negetive news about symbian attracts lots of troll(they just can't see symbian users happy and satisfied)

Guys why you people are not understanding the fact????
The fact is Symbian has reached its peak level,Its already facing engineering challenges & codes are taking very long time to settle, which means development is very slow & also we cannot take symbian to IOS or Windows phone level because its not designed for that.... Nokia failed to react to changing market because of that reason....
Before majority of Nokia employees were not happy with Elop's decision but now all are with the CEO since it became true when Symbian belle couldn compete with Android....
Windows phone 7.5 is the future OS of Nokia. believe me Windows market place is adding 400 apps per day now & it will touch 1 lak mark in another 3 months.
Apps are of High quality.
Developers are moving away from symbian because of its sharp decline & enginnering problems...
Hope u all understand. And by the way dont expect too much in symbian carla, its the same OS with different skin.

lmfao... I was using a galaxy s2 and a HTC velocity 4G today and I can tell you for fact that both suffered from a significant amount of lag. Compare this to the smoothness of Windows Phone and it's not difficult to guess which platform will still be around in 10 years time

how does the N8 successor relate to matters of sales?? really?? We should be seeing the specs of the phone and other stuff like the functionality of the upcoming Symbian/Nokia OS's. I don't read of the same reporting/wording style when it comes Samsung stuff. All negative stuff. Weird and not cool!
ION what are the dates for the release of Belle and Windows Apollo??? Both look awesome

There's no word to describe what I feel. I'm blaming the Android fanboys who spread the word everywhere in every forums that Symbian is outdated. They sread lies and people believed them. That's what caused Symbian's demise.

If this news is true, U wont hear the company name "Nokia" in the next couple of years..... I guess they want their Company to be shut.... Dont know the people who work & take these decisions are working for the Company or against it.... Mr. Stephen says sales are going down, it obviously will go down as they arent keen in supporting symbian anymore nor bringing innovations in it... They feel they can do without symbian, they must be joking....

why not replace s40 with symbian device... seriously the asha series (1ghz processor) could handle symbian easily and with the price point it could be the best entry smartphone device....
they are shooting them self in the foot, and if they let up the opportunity rim could play a bigger role in the lowend market... which nokia still dominate... also samsung bada and future teizen could also be alternatives to hi end androids devices...

Firstly, sales only showed an increased compared to Q3, because guess what? Q4 was Christmas times and most countries that celebrate Christmas always get a sales increase from the previous quarter, however compared to Q4 2010 sales declined a drastic 31%.
Secondly, you claim Nokia sold 18M smartphones in Asia alone, you do know Nokia only sold 19.4 Million smartphones for Q4 2011 correct? Do you honestly believe nokia sold only 1 Million smartphones to the rest of the world?
Thirdly, Symbian saw a 29% market share loss compared to Q4 2010 ended 2011 with only 16% global market share right? Windows Phone saw a 43% market share decline compared to Q4 2010 and ended the 2011 year with only laughable 1.4% market share of the global smartphone market.
