The truth?
All those that are talking bs about this Sony phone are either just pure haters, jealous fanboys, or just have never tried the phone in personal.
There are many cases already when other Android users switch to Sony Xperia phone and felt really happy with their choice, even to an extent that they think it's a much better overall experience.
Another call is that the majority always say that nobody cares about Sony, but then I open a Sony-related article here on GSMArena and not even a day after publishing and it would already get about at least 5 comments already.
Just like the XZ Premium back in 2017. I believe it already broke the GSMArena record for the highest number of comments in a published article.
Is that what they mean about "nobody cares?" LMAO the ignorance :)))

Ohhh this better be good.
Display & design already excellent on Xperia 1, got that Sony signature look. Side rear camera are better as some of the best gimbal working perfect with it.
- Make battery bigger. Ditch the dynamic vibration.
- Reduce the oversharpen camera algorithm, add 4k 60fps
- Apply Auto HDR on high contrast scene, low lights.
- Use in display earpiece like P30 Pro, revive back stereo speakers on top & bottom sides. (Bezels will reduced)
- Improve Cinema Pro app with editing tools, just like FilMic Pro.
Eitherway, Sony dont sell in my country, so i can only imagine lol.

I also suggest you to learn the difference between a color space and a color depth. They are completely separate entities.

More resolution,... moreI agree with you except for 1), 2), 6), and 8). 120Hz mode on Xperia 1 is currently only a rumour which has not been either officially announced or confirmed by Sony. OnePlus 7 Pro has better speakers according to GSMArena and also comes with higher maximum internal storage configuration, and finally HDR video... uhh, is it something you can watch with correct colors and contrast on other devices that don't support HLG video format? There's no denying that Xperia 1 is a more complete phone as a whole, but I think you're exaggerating the truth a little bit.

As far as I know only iPhone XS uses a true 10-bit OLED display.

5) it has protection against water and dust, 7 Pro does not
6) it has slot sd , 7 Pro does not
7) military certification like LG phones, 7 Pro does not
8) it records 4K HDR, 7 Pro does not
9) it has Gorilla 6 on both sides, 7 Pro uses GG5
10) it has LED notification, 7 Pro does not
Only advantage of 7 Pro is battery endurance because of lower resolution and UFS3.0 because it was presented almost 3 months later. This type of memory was not available yet.

last Friday I want Tech Source reviewing that Xperia 1 nothings special in fact the iPhones XS max and OnePlus7 is much superior rather than Xperia 1 and take note Xperia 1 got doulby atmost but still doesn't sound better

Sphinx = J80xx
Xperia 1 = J81xx
Horus = J82xx
According to the codes, since 2017 the first is always the main Xperia.
Which means Sphinx may be above Xperia 1 ...
