Shanti Dope, 03 Jul 2019The truth? All those that are talking bs about this Sony p... moreit is ignorance when the comments does not translate to actual sales, and of those who claim to be fans but never buys a sony smartphone. i bought an xperia 1 a week ago eventhough i am no longer a sony fan. i had to order it overseas because, as you probably know sony mobile has pulled out from the philippines and i simply cannot trust the loacl resellers. it has yet to be delivered but i'll post my own reviews as soon i get it.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2019Almost all since X have 120Hz. Words, from XDA and Sony adm... moreapparently it was included in those phones' rom under the developer's option, but people have tested it and have confirmed it doesn't really do anything. then the same people flashed their phones with kernels that does allow for the recalibration of the screen refresh rate to see if the xperia screens indeed can go up to 120Hz, and they found that just like any regular smartphone screens in the market with 60Hz it wouldn't go past 75Hz. so, no, you sony fans are dreaming.

a 6" 16:9 phone is quite larger than a 6.5 21:9 phone, about an inch for example.

My thoughts from the info so far/rumours so far
every knows J8110 is xperia 1
thus, J8010 is probably Xperia 1s which is smaller version of xperia 1 and cheaper version
· 21: 9
· 6.0 inches (smaller)
· 2K
· HDR OLED
· SD 855
· triple camera
therefore, we presume J8210 is the minor updated and 5g version of xperia 1 called xperia 1V (v for 5)
· 21: 9
· 6. 5 inches (smaller)
· 4K
· HDR OLED
· SD 855
· triple camera and ToF
-5G
probably similar phone as xperia 1, but with 2 updates, 5g and time of flight camera, same price level and xperia 1

Shui8, 03 Jul 2019Ohhh this better be good.
Display & design already e... morePredective Capture and Eye AF do not work when HDR is on.
HDR also has little delay at least, delay that can inteoduce blur.
My Xperia sometimes takes few seconds to show Backlit Scene. People on internet open app and 1s after that they take photo. Of course it cant recognize that fast.

FasterJonny, 03 Jul 2019what's an AUBE chip? Aube was used for XZ2 Premium to do real time merging of colour and monochrome senspr data. Phones like P20 and Nokia 9 do it as post processing only. That is why they dont do it for video too.

If the 6inch display is the "compact" version, who like it? Xperia 1 width is almost same as Xperia Z2, the smaller would have even smaller width.
If the 6inch display is the 16:9 ratio, who like it? Xperia 1 is 21:9 display ratio slightly taller than 16:9, so it must be shorter than Xperia 1.
Conclusion, the trolls will keep trolling, if Xperia 1 is 21:9 display ratio they will say they want 16:9 display ratio. If it is a compact version, those trolls will say they want a bigger one.... More They will ask for more implement from Sony but never pay and own the LATEST phones, even Sony did it (OIS, side fingerprint scanner, purple color..) , they will ask for another implement just never end... so childish. Their demand just change time to time but they proud to compromise with those notch/hole design.

Xperia 1 is not even 2 months old..
Sony is asking to annoy fans. I'm team Sony, but I never understood the need to release 2 flagships per year.
Maybe make it 2 years between flagships and work on the next phone with all you got?? I mean I don't know I'm just a customer? But this thing with yearly flagships is getting out of hand by all companies.

sm4rt4ss, 03 Jul 2019Yeah, but 6" will be a 21:9 ratio. So, a cca. 155mm in height. True, but it's still fairly reasonable on today's standards. Xperia 1 has a whopping 167mm. I don't think I could use such giantic phone on a daily basis.

Shui8, 03 Jul 2019Ohhh this better be good. Display & design already e... moreI wholeheartedly agree with most of the points you made, especially what you said about Dynamic Vibration and Auto HDR. Though I strongly think Sony would ditch the secondary speaker and go back to a single bottom firing speaker if they used an in-display earpiece, given how Huawei did so and that Note 10 will supposedly have a mono speaker.
