can the same example be applied for nokia's pride of best camera (N8) and to this article,so called "largest camera sensor to date " . even i have a DSLR and couple of point and shoots and the experience of any mobile phone cam does not amaze. :)

I'm not an Android beta-tester so this is interesting news, the jippo of apps are beginning to fade and still Ovi maps is the only reliable alternative.

The only downside might be the audio, if they are going to use TI why not sell it as a gimmick like Beats, but only this time it's Burr-Brown. Instead of a few pre-equalizers settings like Beats they could make what they are good at, The hard way with a monolithic 24 bit DAC and a clean and powerful headphone amplifier.

It's easy to pitch this in the media now that there are a few of us that's tired of the thiny girly-wirly phones with useless apps, I'd rather hope they slap on a large battery so the camera dent is smoothed out.

The phone as it's now looks like a POS, it's IMO a halfhearted attempt with a big sensor thinking they can copy the success of N8.

Heck! the 2110i is now considered cool, retro and a vintage accessory for the urban hipster that's going for the less is more vintage alibi and at the same time know that his particular phone has the best coverage in this hysterical time of SAR.

Killers specs don't matter if you don't have signal, you are right. But you forget that showing different signal strength on the signal icon doesn't mean different performance.
In fact, due to different algorithms used, bot mobiles can have the same reception but show different number of bars. Don't forget there isn't a standard to tell us something like «this signal strength as to be converted in this amount of bars».
Better to judge it when you have no signal in one and can't do a call but the other still can.

Nokia is still number one overall. I love Nokia cause of genral quality when all things are considering.
Nokia E6 Nokia 701 are great devices and *okia åumia is for most people perhaps the best there is out there in spite of windows phone platform. it just works, I am impressed but I will hang on to Nokia 701 Belle until something newer comes along on windows phone nokia.

blueglue, 09 Feb 2012good comparision, yes any good camera on a mobile is fine. ... moreAnother test:

I have the moto razr(android) and the N8 side-by-side in a lab where I am working. Moto RAZR has 2 bars on GPRS and N8 has 3 bars on HSPA. Both using Telia Sim here.

So Having great spec does not matter, if you have disgusting radio reception. Moto is the best in reception in Android world, still N8 wins.

Secondly, you said for photo to use a P&S or DSLR. I can ask you to use a Netbook/Tablet or Laptop for internet....its far far better....
If you say anything about mobility then I must tell you that is the exact point about the cameraphone. A decent cameraphone solves the problem about carrying a heavy DSLR around....

In Short: Use your brain, think before you comment....

but at times i feel that the study build, battery backup etc etc of nokia is all hyped stuff. i had 5800, yes i had good backup but not more than 2 days. moreover, you dont get lost in any place where you cant charge your phone. everyone gets a chance to charge their phone daily.

honestly, 5800 is more fragile than galaxy s. trust me i dropped both accidentally.

still dint get the Win 98, Win 7 os example? i am ex symbian user. i even liked the symbian UIQ. the best suited for touch screens at that era. symbian is not powerless, that said it lacks the experience, the feel which the market leaders are providing.

if symbian suits you, Good luck with it, good for you. but that doesnot make it the best in the market
