I've used Nokia and Sony and I prefer Sony but they left the mobile space in my country so I'm probably going with Samsung with the Note 10+.

I'd like to give up Sony and get a better camera but they are the only company that cares for users comfort. Well, cared, XZ2C is over an year old and there is no replacement. I guess I'll get my first iPhone next year if there still isn't a good Android phone on the market.

regarding poll results 50% of participants are fans boys , :D

Huawei and Samsung finishing 1-2 among ANDROID OEMs is what I'm implying. I know Apple finished higher at over 70%. I personally don't care if Apple finished at 100%. I don't like iPhones. That simple.

Will never buy another iPhone in my life. If I happen to win it somewhere in a contest, I would just sell it. I do DoorDash and iOS' Dasher app is horrendous. Can't block spam callers as thoroughly as Android either. I don't miss iMessages or any of their nonsense.

If Google decides to leave the phone hardware business, it's going to be very difficult for me to pick a brand I plan to be loyal to. I don't like Samsung, LG, and the Chinese OEM skins. I also despise giant glass phones bigger than my LG G5.

The emergency scenario is to grab as many Pixels as I can whether it ends in Pixel 6 or 7. Then try to push using them for another 5+ years. I will not give in to phone brands I don't generally like if Google exits the hardware business.

The thing that matters to me is not brand loyalty but:

                1. Phone size, I don't like big phones. Any phone bigger than 5.0" (or 5.8" if bezelless) is a big no-no for me.;
                2. Device quality, as in if they use good parts like batteries and components. This is most important especially for batteries that are now often sealed in and can't be easily removed.
                3. Aftersales and in-warranty. No matter how good a phone is, if the aftersales and in-warranty services is terrible, then you'll be stuck with an overpriced paperweight if your phone breaks.

That's why I changed brands several times. I used to like Sony. However, their in-warranty and aftersales services in our country sucked terribly, very unprofessional and lacks proper customer relations and treatment. That's the same reason I didn't get the Pixel 3 even if I really wanted it - lack of aftersales service here due to being not supported by official warranty in our country.

That's also why I shifted away from Huawei, sure their phones are great but their batteries look like they were made by some cheap supplier. Both my tablet (MediaPad M3) and my previous phone (P10) got their batteries bloated even if took good care of them (not overcharging them, not using the Fast Charging on the phone). The only good thing is that they had replacement batteries but I had to wait like over a month to get a replacement battery for the tablet because their customer service said that they don't have any available.

I noticed Huawei and Samsung finished 1 & 2 but they're also the most popular Android OEMs in the world. Samsung should remain the most popular Android OEM. Google finishes 3rd over Oppo and Vivo even though Pixels barely sells.

I'm concerned at the fate of Google's hardware business. Let's also not forget, Nexus devices didn't exactly sell well either and a couple of them were priced at only $299! I wouldn't be shocked if Google decides to pull the plug and focuses only in software as they already left the tablet segment. Nexus/Pixel will always be considered niche devices.

If Google does cut the Pixel line in 2-3 more years considering Nexus only lasted 7 generations, I would have no choice but to stack as many Pixel devices as I can. I'm not going to be forced to buy these giant glass sandwich slabs with ugly Android skins and inferior camera quality.

Pixel line could end by Pixel 6 or 7 if Google realizes the phone hardware business is a waste of time for them. When Nexus 4 & 5 sold for $299, it didn't exactly sell in the 5M mark. When they overpriced Nexus 6 & 6P, it didn't sell well. No matter what Google tries, their products just seem to flop.

I basically stay with Samsung and Huawei. Need to upgrade from my S8+ and Mate 9 soon but not too sure what to get. Phones are actually getting better and better but in the same way the price keeps on increasing. The OnePlus 7Pro looks good as well as the P30 Pro. Hell, even the Galaxy A70 looks tempting. Might even go old with the Galaxy Note 9 or Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Waiting to see the Honor 9x and Mate 30 Pro. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.............

What’s more important to me is: 1. Phone size (no bigger than 5.8” if its all screen with little to no bezels), 2. Good aftersales support.

That’s the reason why I left Sony a few years back because their Service centers here are run by a$$holes that are rude and more than likely to be incompetent. Sure, Sony phones were nice but a phone is gonna end up being an overpriced paperweight if it’s aftersales service especially during warranty is horrible. That’s also the reason why I don’t buy Google Pixel phones because they don’t have official warranty support here.

                                  Yes, very happy
                                  Samsung Galaxy a30 owner

I have been using Samsung for the longest (tried other brands, but I like most of what's on Samsung's phones).

While I loved my Notes and S series phones, I find the camera quality on Samsung's midrange and lower end phones disappointing. Also, until recently, the lower end was also not snappy enough.

I also find glass backs rather prone to cracks, even with protective cases. It may not destroy the phone, but cracks invariably turn up.

While I love the innovations that Samsung is making, I wish it could lead the market for finding a replacement to the mic jack and the microSD card. Maybe have a magnetic clip that attaches itself to the bottom of the phone, which had a plug in for the old mic jacks (?), and for the microSD, they could either have extremely high transfer rate wifi built into pen drives, or have better access to smartphone usb (mini or type c) to usb pen drives. Bluetooth headphones are more, but they aren't in the same league of wired headphones, atleast not presently.

Also, I wish Samsung could have great cameras for all smartphone in the mid range too. I own multiple smartphones and I feel safest with the non-glass back ones, even if Inhave a few as my faily drivers.

It ain't loyalty. They just have no other choice.

I have tried all the brands and i never married one.
As i know what i want and want every brand is offering, i have a pretty good idea what to expect. But sometimes brands surpise and produce some gems.
I surely know that Apple and Google are not the ones for me, LG and HTC will prolly collpase soon, Sony to follow them, Samsung and Huawei are best atm, but out the blue Oneplus appeared and dominated them, but this could change any moment and once they drop the features that made me attracted to them, i will drop them too.
Companies out to respect their clients and give them what they want.
Sony for example need to work one those bezels and LG on that battery, if they want to survive. Hopefully Trump will ley Huawei be and Samsung is dropping the bixby button and most of its bloatware
