Now, if the screen was a 1080p Amoled one then I'll be willing to pay 200 Euros for it. Xiaomi will sell it for maybe 300 Euros at launch but I'll wait until the price lowers to 200 Euros before I buy it.

Regardless of their intent it's a fact it would survive from a backside drop without a PLASTIC case. So it's an advantage for budget sensitive people.
If you use any glass phone without a case you are taking the risk of back glass replacement cost and a plastic case will thermally insulate the phone anyways. This phone is mostly for budget sensitive consumers.
Also metal glass sandwich phones are a step back from all metal phones. It's especially useless when the phone doesn't have wireless charging feature. Not to mention Qualcomm has a wireless charging tech suitable for all metal phones.
Speaking of cost cutting, I would trade better display with plastic body anyday.

720p for 6.1 screen is joke no matter what. For a 150 dollar phone it would be okay. Also S665 is pretty weak since Kirin 810 is about to start and it will wipe the floor with these low end Snapdragons. And since Huawei/Honor will use the same chipset for all their midrage phones (P Smart, various Lite models), their performance will nearly a double than SD665 and 7nm vs. 11nm.

720p is enough for daily basis task. Also note that this 720p is OLED screen. It also helps to increase battery endurance time. This phone may not A2 substitute, but it will have great battery lifetime ( most likely 105 to 112 hours ).

720P screen in 2019 it's not acceptable... I would liked the fingerprint sensor on the back and 1080P screen.

Just face the fact that Samsung uses full plastic build not for "durability" but only for the manufacturing to be cheap, and yet, the price is still steep for a cheaply built phone. It's even ligher than my Pocophone, which also means that it has smaller/thinner midplate. Samsung uses less metal as much as possible on their A-series and for that, I will never consider them to be built for "durability", they're built for more profit.

Get a cc9 from Ali Express and put a stock rom and enjoy better phone for 220 odd. Or get cc9e for 170 and flash Android one rom on it. Better than the launch price anyways

guys need to understand , android one isn't optimized for battery life , so xiaomi do the right thing

+ 4030 mAh battery
+ Snapdragon 665 (11 nm)
maybe now android one can have good battery life

I just don't understand people these days! Why complaint about a phone that you won't/wouldn't buy and why even compare it to other phone which you think it's better ( then you can simply go for that one).
People calling this a midrange, but have you see the other brands midranges and their prices?
But if this is a budget phone, then have you see other brands budget phones and their specs?
It is so weird and spoiled for people that just keep on complaining about a Brand that already selling phones cheaper than the other guys.
If you want a better phone, pay up. 10e is around $549.
Bit if you want something cheaper. Galaxy A70 is around $370, Xperia 10 is around that too.
Or you can go for A50, M30, A30, J8, Moto G6 for around $270 and under.
Or maybe get a redmi note 7 for $199.
Or better yet,get the mi A2 it is even cheaper.
So, stop whining!
