There's a petition demanding a Redmi K20 price cut in India

20 July 2019
The petition asks a price tag of INR 20,000 as it offers less storage and RAM compared to other phones in the same price bracket.

Xiaomi's Phones are Great!... known for their devices with Excellent Prices... However, every launch of their New Phones are slowly increasing their prices.... (not only in India, also in Philippines, and other parts of the globe). Xiaomi is killing its Brand slowly.... pls. stick with your vision and mission (of having devices with excellent prices).
Remember, most of your fans/followers are excited primarily about Xiaomi's device prices... they complain because they like your product not because they want to hate it...
after all, listening to customers is the great decision to make.... cheers!

Indians get all the good deals on phones and they still complain. They have no idea what we are paying in the rest of the world.

My fellow countrymen, you all need to calm down lol. Where I am at, the same phone (Mi 9t) is priced as 350 Euros which translates to ~27000 INR and people are still buying it as it is a good deal. Y'all are just very spoiled

this whole thing is stupid. if one can't afford something, go for the next best alternative instead of whining, simple as that. there's a ton of options in the midrange. it's no different when trying to buy literally any other thing in the world, what's so different about this one? just because it was EXPECTED to be low priced, people now feel entitled to have it at what they perceive to be low? this already IS low priced relative to the market

I find the petition reasonable considering the following points:-

                    1. Poco F1 is now starting at 18k.
                    2. Realme X will pose to be a big threat.
                    3. Even Mi A2 got a negative response due to no microSD slot, now it sells at almost half its starting price, (Rs. 9999 instead of 17999)
                    4. Its a very temporary purchase overall, because the 64GB is not expandable by microSD,

However, the petition ignores the following points:-

                    1. AMOLED screen in this price range!!
                    2. Triple cameras, in this range, (that too, ultrawide, wide and tele)
                    3. Excellent audio quality with external amplifier,
                    4. Prices will go down as the phone gets older, launch prices are more everytime, right?

The final result, well its upto us to decide. The phone will not be ignored for sure, just because a petition demanded so, but they can make an impact.

Indians LOL... If it is overpriced. Just do not buy it. What the heck with signing these petitions. If you think there are better options for less money , then why the petition.

Manish, 21 Jul 2019Those who are in favor of price of K20 & K20 Pro and co... moreWho is stopping you? There is a 30% performance gap between the two. K20 has SD730.

Walter C. Dornez, 21 Jul 2019FolksFolks are really gonna mad. If you don't like just leave.
Even people don't do that much outrage against Govt.

Xiaomi is not a Govt Organization. It is a private Company it is their products and their rules. If you like go for it or otherwise leave. Yeah if Xiaomi do not provide Services Support after owning the device then there is a option for petition.

Otherwise demanding like this is pathetic and stupidity.

BrendonF, 21 Jul 2019I use the Poco F1. Nice phone but its got a HUGE notch. Rea... moreYeah, Indian phone buyers only really care about three key specs: CPU, GPU, and Battery Size.

They perceive the Redmi K20 to be inferior to the CHEAPER Pocophone simply because it doesn't have a Snapdragon 855 and therefore are entitled to complain about making it cheaper to be on par with the Pocophone.

I mean, Fortnite and COD Mobile supposedly run better on the Pocophone than the K20...

Would you like to pay less for the Redmi K20?

                              A) Yes
                              B) No

I mean C'mon who wouldn't want to pay less? Don't be surprised if people start signing a petition of this nature. Pathetic and basically states the obvious. Who needs a petition?

Mediateksux, 20 Jul 2019They have been spoiled by xiaomi itself, which sells phones... moreThose were significant changes to keep the price as similar as possible with china's.
The 48mp sensor on the regular variant was way better than the 12mp's.
The K20 (pro and non pro) are the exact same in both china and India, so obviously there's going to be a difference in price.
Sure, the price difference might be a bit of a stretch, but it's still a great deal, especially the Pro version.

As a xiaomi fan, they price at a reasonable range, amoled screen, full screen display, whta more u want? Especially when they are trying to become like oneplus, bringing cheap price with premium spec.

So basically they're impatient. Because the price will eventually dropped. Moreover it's Xiaomi, who's launching new devices in like every 3 month.

Redmi made wait 2 months and dint give hint about pricing. Given Redmi phones are always aggressive w.r.t prices, xiaomi shld have gone by launching this under MI branding instead of Redmi. Simple thing, they dint takecare even after being in market for long and knwing how customers think.
