Indian customers have so much privilege when it comes to budget phones being right in your stores not worrying about import taxes etc
As the rule of privilege goes , when you have it you can't see it, the k20 is great for the price look at America they think the new HTC fire line are amazing values for money

[deleted post]Setting aside your underhanded generalization re: social status of the petitioners, it does make more sense for them to vote with their wallets/cards.
By actually not using them.

I mean why even give coverage to a petition which has ~500 signs? K20 is still a great phone for its price. It doesn't have any competition which is better in all respects. If this petition gains momentum, Xiaomi will just do something like Poco F1 again, average build, avg display, etc with flagship SoC & maybe even add more ads to cut costs.

NL, 20 Jul 2019Is this article even necessary?Yes, it's necessary. Because GSM arena get more hits and views from India and generate more revenue. So they give priority to post articles related to India.

DrakeX, 20 Jul 2019I'm sure the Mi 9T's AMOLED is good enough and will last lo... moreThe Samsung display is probably just more false advertising (If they ever advertised it as being Samsung-manufactured? Not sure about that). I'm starting to totally not trust them.
As for the sound, i tried enabling "hi-res audio", but it made zero difference. I have Redmi 5 plus and there's significant difference not only in terms of quality, but i'd say loudness too. And 9T is twice the price of 5 plus. That's just not acceptable.

Well why they dont want reduced prices on Apple or Samsung???
Oh i know noone can afford them.
When comes to pricing Xiaomi outbeats any other competitor like nothing.
And when comes to quality they are even too now.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2019The problem with cheap AMOLED screens is not picture qualit... moreI'm sure the Mi 9T's AMOLED is good enough and will last long as it is manufactured by Samsung. 600 nits tells me it's a quality one (unlike LG). It might even have the same panel as Honor Magic 2, Lenovo Z5 Pro, Mi Mix 3, etc. Burn in is inevitable due to OLED nature. It's strange that many Chinese phones don't use BOE OLED as it is Chinese
I've heard it. I'm no audiophile but I think it's not so bad it's unusable. Tbh, I didn't even realise about the Hi-Fi cert but it's disappointing Xiaomi couldn't promise it. I read a bit more info and it seems to use Qualcomm's audio chip. Have you tried enabling the headphones effects? That might make some difference. I tested with a cheap piece of headphones but I always use bluetooth earphones. There are better ones in the market, I'll admit that.
Dual-band GPS was also advertised but not available. Another one of Xiaomi's false promises. As for me, as long as GPS works, good for me.
Despite it's flaws, I think it still excels in other aspects but if it doesn't meet your requirements, you're better off with other options.

AnonD-241270, 20 Jul 2019i have to agree with you, the K20/K20 Pro as annoucement in... moreXiaomi's erratic design choices were demanded by the manufacturers that they sourced their hardware from. People just expect lower prices but in the backend, all of the parts needed to make a phone does increase too. AMOLED demands this year is overshooting, Samsung has monopoly of AMOLED and they dictate the pricing of their products. Same with Qualcomm.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Change.org has much better cause to represent than just to lower the price of a 22k phone.
Seriously, supply and demand is basic economics. If lots of Indians won't buy the phone, Redmi will definitely lower the price.

This is seriously a big joke. If you are not happy with the price offered, you have choice to change the brand. There are plenty of options available for all the products. If this is just beginning, we will see many more such things later. People are using change.org platform for almost anything now. Couple of years back, when BlackBerry had stopped the support of PlayBook after 3 years. At that time some people had went for petition asking 'Unlock the bootloader of PlayBook' in order to install Android OS on it.
