22K is $320 US. That's an amazing deal for a new chip, OLED, no notch, headphone jack. I don't get this

But ranting like this is very irrelevant. If you don't want to buy. Just ignore. Xiaomi is not forcing anybody to buy. Creating nuisance like this is stupidity.
People need to think that Internet have no walls.
This type of mentality is really harsh. These kind of people don't deserve Flagship, they are only made for using Midrange SD 600 series SoC and IPS Display. RN7 Pro is perfect for them.

lol,These people if K20 pro is overpriced then what do you guys think of Oneplus 7 its 5k more and lacks 4000mah battery, triple camera,DAC,headphone jack, full screen display.
I brought my oneplus 6 for 35k which lacked many features K20 pro have and oneplus 6 have one of the worst speaker found on a phone it distorts at higher volume audio through headphone jack is pathetic and vibration motor is disgusting it vibrates like ultra cheap phone and not to forget about poor camera performance thank god there is a GCAM or else I would have sold this junk long time back.
My point is just because Oneplus spends more money on advertisement doesn't mean it is premium brand and guys if you don't want to spend more then get a phone within your budget why so much hate against a brand.

CompactPhones5ever, 20 Jul 2019Just a lot of generic 'blah blah blah' that we can't really... moreOne more thing Xiaomi is now want to increase their R&D Facilities. So it is their need to increase price.
But yeah 64GB is still irrelevant. They could have switched to 4+128 GB and 6+128 GB. This make sense. As it has no expandable memory option.
But now if Xiaomi do anything then they have to face outrage from those guys who have purchased 6+64 at INR 22K.
It's a situation like "Between the Devil and the deep blue sea"
I don't think Xiaomi is going to change price, right now.
But everything is unpredictable.

This is stupid and unnecessary...

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2019Exactly. Vote with wallets. What is point of going through ... moreExactly. I don't want a cheaper Redmi (But then again, i'm not indian). I would pay something in the MI9 price range, but if it had no serious compromises. Instead, they insist on compromising a lot, while still raising prices...

CompactPhones5ever, 20 Jul 2019Just a lot of generic 'blah blah blah' that we can't really... moreThe Poco F1 was straight-up ugly though. There's no two ways about that and I think we all can admit. Corners had to be cut then and still everyone liked it. Somehow the Redmi K20, without really any significant compromises for the price they're asking for, becomes underappreciated despite it is both beautiful and powerful. Then of course the prices had to be raised in a perfectly reasonable manner.
BUT, I don't know Xiaomi could just be playing smart and trying out what sells, or at least in India where they almost unconditionally and stubbornly measure price-to-performance ratio alone in judging what's worth buying. Disclaimer: I'm trying my best not to generalize but that's just what the news imply.

DroidBoye, 20 Jul 2019If you don't like it, don't buy it. Change.org has much bet... morethese type of things demean change.org.... next thing would be "kid wrote petition to his parents signed by millions, to buy him next flagship"

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2019Setting aside your underhanded generalization re: social s... moreExactly. Vote with wallets. What is point of going through all these loops. It just puts a bad impression on companies, and makes them worse at making stuff if they prioritize pricing based model. This is the exact reason Mi flagships never launch in India. They messed up their own brand image and are unable to regain some users from OnePlus, despite mi flagships being great in their own right.
1. They should ignore petitioners
2. Launch more premium phones to help in improve their brand reputation. Start with mi9
3. Remove ads ASAP.

Big lol @ Kumar's "thanks for your unconditional lve and support" - funny saying it when so many people are pissed at them.
I understand why Indians are so pissed off, they wanted a flagship killer like Poco F1, instead they got 'somewhat cheap flagship'. I'm sure majority of people would've preferred Snapdragon 710 in K20 (non-pro) if it meant drastically cutting the price, but I'm 99% sure they're just lying, they're just increasing their profits because they can. Nothing wrong about it, people just need to get used to the fact that Xiaomi/Redmi is no longer the cheap company.

IpsDisplay, 20 Jul 2019Indian customers have so much privilege when it comes to bu... moretrue. what even is there to complain about the k20s given their price. its perfectly reasonable if not a steal. imo the k20s are still a way better deal than the phones they say that sell cheaper with 8gb/128gb.
otherwise a price drop, though still completely unnecessary imo, would usher in greater competition which is always good for us consumers, even more so for India.

GalaxyUser, 20 Jul 2019People of India, their "average" affordability is just arou... moreThat's the problem, they didn't launch a true flagship, but they did advertise it as such. In the end, K20 compromises on almost everything and K20 pro doesn't compromise only in terms of cpu and GPS. That's just not what a flaship should look like. And it's the first Redmi "flagship", at least according to Xiaomi, so they should have been better.

DonAKG, 20 Jul 2019You want Quality Buy an iPhone or Samsung. Else you need to... moreiPhone basically is a compromise on everything (Poor battery, poor/notched screen, average camera, no 3.5mm jack, no dual sim, crippled software, proprietary charging port). Samsung flagships have bad batteries and now they'll also lack 3.5mm jack. Also the cancerous front cameras and edge screens. Terrible.
But just because these phones are not good enough and overpriced, doesn't mean other manufacturers shouldn't care about quality (And at least stop lying/deceiving like they did with all the K20/Mi9t/K20 pro conflicting and inconclusive info). That way i may not buy a Samsung or iPhone, but i won't buy a Xiaomi either, i'll just refuse to spend any money.

People of India, their "average" affordability is just around INR 15,000/USD 200/EUR 190. They had already predicted that it is going less than INR 20,000. Now it is hurting.
RealMe X had put the gasoline in fire as they are literally cheaper around INR 5K/ USD72. This create the rift btw Xiaomi and customers.
In my opinion, Expandable Memory should be included either Hybrid or Triple Slot. But Kudos to Xiaomi they have launched true Flagship.
Xiaomi has also clarified that Redmi K series had no Display ADs. Just a few settings and flawless experience.
Xiaomi India had also released their OPEN LETTER for giving Clarification for pricing.
