If samsung comes with a completely new technology and huawei bring the same technology in two months, that is stolen technology, if chinese manufacturer comes with a "new" technology samsung doesnt have, it is most likely bought startup. They buy startups because they can, but they cant buy samsung technologies legaly, because samsung wouldnt sell them for the same price as startups do. Therefore they buy it illegaly - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-29/south-korea-charges-11-with-selling-samsung-technology-to-china

You said stealing - theft which I can't debate on it, you might be either wrong or wright. Also you said they actually bought startups - which is a legal thing to do - would you please decide on this matter and re-post with an actual meaning and not contradicting yourself? People might think you don't know what you're talking about. Or maybe you just don't...

To be fair, why are chinese manufacturers faster to deliver than samsung, apple etc... is because they steal the technology, therefore they do not need invest almost any time/money in development in those fields and they can invest in their own technologies instead. It is the way japanese used to do things back in the days. But once manufacturing has moved from japan and marked has changed, they are falling down, beacause they have a hard time to actually innovate as there is not enough "thinking out of box" in those copycat countries. It is not meant to offend people from there, but this is the way this culture works. Most of the "inovations" coming from those chinese manufacturers are just former startups they have bought. Once the manufacturers will move to vietnam/india, they are going to loose the track, and most likely will end up as japan. Stuck in their technological age - like japan in 90s early 00s

Gaming phones don't have to be completely impractical. What's the next downgrade justification, "a gaming phone doesn't need phone call functionality?

Anonymous, 24 Jul 2019it is a gaming phone... are you gonna play in a pool?Yes, that's how you liquid-cool the device ; )
But in all honesty, ASUS needed to give the RoG Phone2 proper sealing and attain IP68 certification. At the price they're asking, there's no excuse. Heck, they could've taken the easy route and just given us Removable Battery instead... which makes more sense for a portable console (eg GameBoy Advance or PSP).

Now back to iPhones, I feel like the iPhone XI is going to be an intermediate step.
                                      - The front is going to have a small notch
                                      - The back camera bump is going to be more level
                                      - The first-gen ultrasound TouchID is going to be placed in-screen
                                      - The 3D Touch is going to be replaced by a strong vibrating motor, and that same "Haptic" is going to be responsible to emit sound from the display and replace the earpiece

The next design which would probably come in 2021:
                                      - USB-C is going to arrive, with special permission for iOS devices/MFi
                                      - Rear camera is going to be fused into the body (no hump)
                                      - Front glass is going to be all-display ~90% StB (virtual notch for front-camera/FaceID)
                                      - Probable move to a 21:9 aspect ratio "Cinema Display"
