Apple iPhone XI will have huge camera sensors too

Lol if camera is your justification, just get a cheap rebel for $399 and you can go from 28mm-300mm with a much much bigger APSC sensor.

[deleted post]Just because someone buys a Samsung and not a Huawei doesn't make them a hater, the p30 pro isn't as perfect as people make out, yes it's good but it's not perfect...I'm hoping Huawei don't go all out on curved screens , the only reason I chose my s10e is because it's semi compact , flat screen and I didn't pay a penny for it...was going to buy a new tablet soon but might see what Huawei have to offer big screen phone wise by the first quarter of next year....kind of like a slightly more compact tablet / phablet thing.

Anyway mobile device wise I don't know why people care about the cameras, get a real camera if you want real quality

[deleted post]If the P30 Pro had stereo speakers and a Snapdragon 855, I would probably buy it.

Shadocx, 05 Aug 2019You mean Pixel.Aren't Pixel phones only made by Google while Nexus ones the ones that they develop through collaborations with other brands like HTC and Huawei? Because that's what I mean, the hardware of a Huawei phone with a custom developed software by Google.

When you larger sensor, the lenses become larger and thicker.
The OIS increases size and there is also the space between lens elements (many use between 5-7).

Unless they accept to make phones with 12mm or more (not counting eventual cam bulge) the 1/1.5" will be limit.

Any company could order a larger sensor, if they are not using it is a simple choice.
Huawei chose to use 1/1.8" while other chose to keep buying 1/2.55".

[deleted post]I do trash talk Apple because i actually tried their iOS and is bad horrible.
I don't with Huawei because i appreciate the innovation that they do, but at the same time they fail in some areas. Like the camera over filtering.

wouldn't it be wonderful to see a new Nexus phone developed between Huawei and Google? Imagine Google's software with Huawei's hardware, the best camera phone ever.

[deleted post]Yes, Mate 30 Pro will have an even bigger sensor. P30 Pro had 1/1.7".

But you seem to be correct about this beautification thingy. Faces are pretty plasticy. Fortunately, i almost never shoot people, so it's not a problem for me. Also i use video camera maybe once in year, so no problem also.
Of course, i still use Nokia 808 too, so it's easy to compare. P30Pro camera after latest updates is a bit better now than 950XL camera was 4 years ago. Which says a lot about 950XL.

There will be a point when phone camera sensors hit their size limit if they want to keep phones slim.
Sensors are not the only component, and a good camera needs a good set of lenses to fit the desired field of view into the sensor. I'm not that expert, and do correct me if I were wrong, but as far as I know, camera modules with bigger sensors might require to be thicker.
I wouldn't mind a camera bump if it means better photos, though.
