Huawei Mate 30 Pro will have two large 40MP sensors on the back

They may be in the Nokia Lumia 1020 territory with that sensor size, but that 40MP still relies on pixel binning technology.
A modern replacement or spiritual successor for the 1020? Only time will tell.

Shui8, 06 Aug 2019U talking about old Sony Xperia 20mp? That is just pure mar... moreHigh pixel isn't everything, someone correct me please. When some review telling us 20MP is too much for the old time.
The AI Camera isn't all great, you also need to use manually, you have told me. So as long as I know how to use my Sony smartphone then it is fine, why you must calling it garbage? Because you don't know how to use Sony smartphone but talent in use the Huawei smartphone? Huawei has the more artificial color added in every photo, especially in lowlight do you agree? A night isn't a day.

Maybe finally something that could start to be a replacement or steps to a replacement of my 808. Of course that would require editing raw files in most situations but it offers similar or better quality for that then I'm down

Shadocx, 06 Aug 2019If the P30 Pro had stereo speakers and a Snapdragon 855, I ... moreI don't know about the speakers, but if it's the processor you're worried about, go and buy that phone. The Kirin 980 is fantastic, has great power handling and super fast. I have it in my Mate 20 Pro and it just flies. The 855 may really be faster, but a friend of mine has the Galaxy S10 and you won't even notice the difference - no matter what the benchmarks say.

Huawei is fully committed to their original plan of becoming no.1, and that commitment is admirable.

Is it you Pro, 06 Aug 201920MP long time ago.U talking about old Sony Xperia 20mp? That is just pure marketing. High resolution on a very small pixel size (1.22). The end results is just meh. And Superior Auto change it to 8mp, which is good enough to takes in low light (At that time it was great, nowadays its considered as garbage quality)
When Alpha departments takes on Xperia 1, they address the issue, therefore lower the res to 12mp, smaller sensor but bigger pixel size. Its more balance that way. Nokia 808 & 1020 is a different story, their camera sensor are big enough.

Note7 owner, 06 Aug 2019Lol if camera is your justification, just get a cheap rebel... morethis is a loser justification. who want a separate bulk when you can get the best in one super phone.. samsung should really up their camera hardware. Also, I do considering update note fe to 10 just because of the pen but it is a big plus if note 10 has 90% of p30 pro awesomeness.

Note7 owner, 06 Aug 2019Lol if camera is your justification, just get a cheap rebel... more100% agree. I have a camera, and i don't even care about all this now. I care only about screen size&quality, functionality of the software, the looks of the GUI and design&build quality of the phone itself.

Samsung isn't any leader anymore when it comes to mobile photography. Generally, not much has changed since the S8 from 2 years ago. OK, the S9 has dual aperture etc. but when you compare the photos in decent light (S9 vs. S10 for example) there's not much difference. And when you look at the P30 Pro photos you can see much more details, even in good light. And in poor light Samsung is lost.
So Samsung - the Note 10 won't change anything here because as we know no bigger changes in camera department there. Hope the S11 will bring some innovation finally, because there's no innovation since the S8 and you are far behind Huawei.

Amazing that more than 10 years on the Nokia 808 still has a significantly larger sensor. No replacement for displacement.

I don't like Huawei for years but now I finally say they deserve their success. Huawei gets it when it comes to pushing camera tech in their phones where Sony and Samsung should be doing it, considering they manufacture camera sensors.

[deleted post]Im huawei user, but i think you are wrong.
Zoom:one of the best
Low light: absolutely the best
But in video compared to Samsung or apple huawei is behind the competition.
No 4k 60fps,no 4k on the front camera and the image stabilisation is not that good, sorry but that's the truth.
