Here's why the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ don't have a headphone jack

07 August 2019
The company anticipated the backlash, and thus had a few reasons at the ready.

AverageUser, 09 Aug 2019USB - C headphones work just as good as 3.5mm jack ones do ... moreThere was a more logical progression with floppy. With headphone jack it's a stupid marketing trick being defended and supported by fools. There has been zero added benefit to the user for it. Just negatives for the people that use it. And the situations where others that don't rely on it could find themselves needing it.

Even cd players in cars is bs. Again. No benefit to the removal.

Literally the same excuses as Apple. They just want to sell their wireless buds.

In that case your precious data will go (try guess where :-)
And warranty can cover some damage which wasnt caused by you.
But if your phone droips and dies your warranty is good for nothing.

Who cares about this jack... It's bad for human health, because of devil music young people listen through headphones. I'm glad the jack is gone. Then I want call someone, but he or she doesn't hear, they became deaf.

Wow, even CAT B35 has a jack. How Samsung justify removing it on their 10" tablet?
I agree with the crowd here - it's true that the jack has over 100 years now. But when you really put a thought to it - it sticked with us for 100 years for a good reason probably.
Removing it hinders useabity of SMARTPHONE. Why I typed that in all caps? Because smartphones were supposed to be swiss knife of portable technology. How far has that idea been removed from reality over the 12 years of smart phone existence?
Two USB ports instead of one, microHDMI for external screen, one headphone jack and one line out, gigabit ethernet port (because wifi is fallible), removable battery, and full-size SD storage (not microSD). No front cam, only one actually decent sensor on the aluminium back, sitting flush with the body.

But this is impossible. Why? Because every good idea have been reducted to lowest common denominator to satisfy the masses.
                  Cyanogen - dead
                  FirefoxOS - dead
                  Ubuntu Mobile - dead
                  Copperhead OS - discontinued
Oneplus One originally stood apart, because it packed powerful hardware in a open source hardware concept (fully compatible with Nethunter kernel). What happened with Oneplus idea to 'stood apart' over the years? What happened to 'think different'?

Reality check - good tech and ideas CANNOT survive mass marketing. It has to cater to the overall average to be profitable. Just look at 90% of consumer products.
Why was the jack removed? Because people allowed it to happen.

If you are a true audiophile, you can definitely feel the difference of using an earphone or a headphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth. The difference is like day and night.

On another note, USB-C earphones or headphones might sound like a good subtitute for the lack of headphone jack. But I never personally tried it, so I wouldn't comment much.

                      Ridiculous excuses, as always.
And simply to ask a consumer: would you have a headphone jack or 100mAh (what, like 20 minutes?) more and a better feedback (that is already good enough)? I rest my case.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2019I didn't get over the removable battery. I just dealt with... moreWhy would you throw out a perfectly good working smartphone especially a flagship just because the battery's starting to fail?

It would be better to replace the battery, or sell it, or trade it in, if it's totally knackered then you can still trade in or get money for recycling.

My battery is guaranteed for 1 year & my Note9 guaranteed for 2 years, I'm sure this is the case with other top manufacturers.

You can replace your flagship battery with genuine or equivalent highest quality oem battery yourself for about £25 including the tool kit, (you'll probably lose any IP rating).

Or use a third party (but make sure they use a brand new genuine or equivalent highest quality oem battery) for about £40 (you'll probably lose any IP rating).

Or one of your manufacturer's authorised repairers for about £60, they'll come out to where you live or work, they'll fix it within the hour.
Battery & IP rating guaranteed for 6 months which will be long enough to identify any problem.

Let's look at it this way. They get good publicity from critics wailing over non inclusion of 3.5mm jack and MicroSD card slot.
