I don't think this will this will end android, bigger more richer companies spend on R&D create their alternative to android. Let start with Symbian, Tizen, Firefox Os, Sailfish OS. Amazon Os, Microsoft OS, Ubuntu touch hell one time CyanogenMod all these had high hopes on defeating big bad android where are they now??? Harmony OS only will survive if it on multi OEMs but doubt that will happen already dead in water but i'm optimist maybe Harmony OS can do impossible. One key thing people always forget app store it took ages for android catch up apple app store as my understanding took many, many years to reach it.

can't unlock bootloader and no root options.
this os means being suck with the software and services no matter what. in typical huawei fashion

Country-owned companies do it all the time because they have a lot of power. Huawei is a Chinese company.
People blame USA for doing the same but Google, Apple are not USA-owned companies. They're just corporations.
I hope USA and Europe ban all country-owned operating systems, such as ChinaOS aka HarmonyOS

Custom OS + minimum Google/Huawei/3rd party services FTW. At least phone manufacturers use AOSP which is not solely a Google project; But this Harmony OS is solely a Huawei project ATM.

I am not sure if harmony does the trick, but this is the beginning of the end for Android...
It has peaked. The latest iterations add nothing and it becomes arrogant and restrictive like ios
The greediness imposes more useless features that only aim to increase profits at the expense of clients resources, it wad only a matter of time and this is how it starts!
