Daily ones from phones are worse than old 1/2.3" dslr ..
Even professional photographers avoid this scenario as much as possible, if necessary they use lighting.

Apple has been absent from the low light photography race for 2 years now, now they see everyone's homework and is ready to catch up
Only now will apple fans think low light photography is necessary
Not gonna lie I wish I had this blind loyalty if i were running a business it is truly incredible

If apple is using another way that is not patented, then no. Even if in practice it looks like its the same thing, they (and nobody) will not pay them.

a regular smartphone is, literally, the resultant of thousands of inventions (with the related patents...). do you know all their authors? fact is that apple, with its iPhone, invented what is currently perceived as a "smartphone" and hat defines it: display, no physical keyboard, possibility to install applications, aso. of course there were the "ancestors" of it, do you know them and who invented them? do you know, without searching the net..., who introduced the first phone with a photo camera? so, give me a break...

Anan, 22 Aug 2019A gimmick that everybody use it Leave it to Apple to make gimmicks into standards. Now I hope they improve FaceID by using Time of Flight sensors instead of the old sensors used on Xbox Kinect. Now that'll make ToF standard.
