Sony Xperia 1 gets disappointing DxOMark score for both front and back cameras

The rear camera scored on par with the Poco F1, the selfie camera edged out the Pixel 2.

Craps news, crap tests.
Every timey friend makes a pic with their xz2 is leaps better than my s10 and their gfs p20.

I can't imagine the Xperia 1 is worst. And the xz2 got meh camera reviews as well. Yet consistently destroys my more expensive and so called better camera phone. Especially at dark. Fake news much.

      You can then see how this and other smartphone cameras compare. Perhaps the area(s) where this has it's weak point aren't vital points of photography to you. The weakest areas of this camera are flash (and I don't like any phone's flash photographs), zoom and bokeh (which is all fake looking on all phones). To me personally, I wan't more and more zoom in smartphone cameras, and of course with OIS, so for med this phone isn't ideal. That said, neither is my current phone.

      Maybe you take a lot of photos in difficult lighting conditions, such as with strong backlight, in such conditions it beats the current no. 1 smartphone camera overall, the Note 10+

        This type of news and scores for me is just propaganda from incompetent reviewers and corrupt tech sites. People should stop wasting time on such sites because the results on some brands are on purpose shown badly, if you know any unbiased camera profesional who has plenty flagship phones in his hands he will tell you that the difference between this phones and their camera capability are minimal. I personaly don't like Sony for beeing so passive in smartphone buseness, with their knowlege and investment in camera market, they should have by far the best smartphone camera, it is their decision or mistake at the end of the day.

                    Just for all Sony's Fan, we have to admit that Sony camera performance is not on bar with the competition. Despite that I'll always choose a Sony phone for many other reasons, including the camera (for its color accuracy).
                    as for why Sony lag behind, I believe it's because the inconsistent results that the camera gives, sometimes you get a perfect picture from the first try, sometimes from the 3th or 5th try (u get my point) but when you finally get the picture, it's, in my humble opinion, far better than the other phones camera's pictures.

                        This is not fair comparison, Xperia 1 has HDR off by default, Competitors has HDR on be default!

                          Sony has poor cameras... who'd have guessed...

                              Never trust DXO Mark score. A rigged system and it has a conflict of interest.
