Hisense T91 prototype shows UFS cards run circles around microSD cards

UFS is the same tech that's found in most Android flagships and these cards would have allowed expandable storage to be as fast as the built-in.

OEMs abandoned UFS cards just as they abandoned microSD Express cards which use PCIe lanes.

    So atleast SD cards aren't going away from phones yet.....

      Hisense? So it's Huawei. Let's see what happens.
