And how do u determine common sense? Just Bcuz samsung phones x amount, doesn't mean apple has to follow them. They have their own os and don't need to rival android phones. There are other android phones with newest soc and are much cheaper than samsung. Now common sense is where?

¿"New" Iphone? More like selling the same for more. I understand, of course it has some upgrades, but theis upgrades are something somewhat mandatory now days, with all these new mid range phones that are coming to the market. Most of them have 128GB storage and fast charging battery.
How will someone choose to go with an Iphone Pro or Pro Max for $1149 o $1349 when you can buy for example Galaxy S10E, half the price with the same attributes.

And Qualcomm and Samsung are not even trying to compete with Apple. Apple also probably has very good low level software that can communicate with the chipset in an efficient manner, something Android is sorely lacking

So no matter what you say, to have the best brain, in this case the cpu/gpu is a must have no matter the platform...ios android windows mac etc etc

Apple put Animation on every move on screen, that is why you have feeling that is so smooth, good animation hide all laging.
But if you find old videos on youtube, you will see that even half price Android phone vas faster than Iphone. So you can forget about Apple chipset.

Need to test the camera, wide angle isnt important to me. If it does a better job with complex patterns of woven fabrics than Xs i will get it. Thing is, Xs is already best of the newer phones on this, miles ahead of P20 Pro which i tested it against, but none of them could render the fabric details the iphone 7 captured. Newer phones with multilens cameras severly overprocess photos and thus lose detail in complex patterns, P20 Pro doesnt capture any pattern at all in many cases, cant even compete with iphone 4s (!).
Apple watch 5 is THE thing to get this year but maybe i wait for the titanium model, had so many stainless steel models already so it could be nice with a change.

I lived the announcements... in special the 11 Pro model.
What I did not like is the weight and size.
I still wishes a smaller iPhone with less than 150g.
I will probably buy an iPhone 8 soon and wait they get better at size and weight.
Everything else looks great in the 11 Pro... a dream.
