22 September 2019
Huawei's camera hardware is well ahead of the competition, but is it enough to sell the phones without Google Play Services?

Its so good. But it has numerous minor to medium draw backs. With a couple larger ones.
With them knowing about the google services they shouldnt have cut so many corners. Then to charge such a premium still.
I thought there was ois on both 40mp sensors but one supposedly might not.
The wide notch and only sound on display which is cool, but competitors have some amazing stereo speakers.
        No 90hz or even QHD
No headphone jack on such a huge device. No excuse.
Only their type of memory is supported.
        Downgraded zoom.
Of course the lack of Google services.

Things that could be deal breakers for what's otherwise such a great innovative phone.
The beatiful design and display, the cameras of course, the new chipset that utilizes a better mali set up just like samsung should have and with greater efficiency, battery, etc.

sohail shafayat, 22 Sep 2019The problem is why only android and iOS. Why this monopoly?... moreDevelopers don't want to maintain their softwares in many different platforms, android and ios gives them plenty of work already, actually android would probably not have succeeded if apple licensed ios to other manufacturers.

Well this is the best flagship of the year along with ROG 2 and Redmi K20 pro Premium which is best budget flagship but considering it scored much over 500k is still the best.
Many other much more expensive phones havent score that much on benchmark and i dont think the stereo speakers and IP certifications along with card slot are worth 500 more bucks.
And having no google preinstalled is pros in this case. At least Huawei will add option to get harmony as soon as it will be available for cell phones which will take like 2-3 months my opinion.

I feel, to me, the Mate 30 is actually better. Sure, I don't get OIS on the main camera (which is pretty stupid), IP68, EVER-so-slightly better resolution, or a slightly bigger battery but to spend $300 less to get band 66 and a headphone jack while still retaining fast-charging/fast wireless charging, OLED display, Stereo Speakers, Expandable Memory, and IR Blaster, I'm all for that.

Google can be installed easy. It just takes time.

The bigest problem is the NoName memory card,
instead of the Normal MicroSD card. This is the
                        suicide of Huawei !

It's great Phone I will buy it without Google because I have another mobile phone ( Redmi ) but I still feel USA will still allow Huawei To do business with USA company Just a matter of time...it's like A country is depriving us from using mobile Phone of our choice .....will u and me back off because of them ? It's No for me because I earn my money and I can use it to buy whatever I want and need ...it can be yes for others that's their Choice....Yeah Huawei OS is not ready because they need lots of Apps to function on their OS before dishing it out ....there is life before android and there will always be a life After android...#istandwithHuawei #mate30mychoice

sohail shafayat, 22 Sep 2019The problem is why only android and iOS. Why this monopoly?... moreWindows Mobile is dead, Sailfish is nowhere near as popular as they are like they don't want to spend $50 for an OS change, Harmony isn't ready for mobile phone primetime and that's just about it. Let's not count the featurephone OS such as Kai and surviving Symbian S.

The problem is why only android and iOS. Why this monopoly? Why not Windows and other OSs?

Huawei Appgallery is pretty OK. It has dark mode and plenty of apps. With billion investment, app sortiment would grow fast. Millions of Chinese Huawei users never use Google Playstore. So it's new market for developers outside China.

No problem for Huawei, headache at the most.

Of course, I think some ppl's choice will be in some way or another, influenced by the google-less predicament of the phone intensified by the haters who are probably having a field day right now. But it doesn't take away the fact that indeed these phones are some of the best(if not the best) out there, spec-wise. I'm just sad because it might sell less not because its inferior, but because of MAGA which has nothing to do with these phones quality.

Mate 30 Pro is definitely one of the most ambitious smartphones of 2019. Some of the leaks didn't turn out correct (90hz display, etc), but even so it lived up to impress with it's new and superior video recording capabilities (specially the ultra-slomo) & it's futuristic design.

This phone deserves to sell, and if it doesn't, it's only due to US politics.

While basically every media outlet feed the narrative of the world ending spreading misinformation about these phones not being able to have Google (GMS)

Forbes did an rather embarassing article about this in my opinion even XDA was implying it wasn't possible ( but who knows maybe I misread the article)
