[deleted post]He is right, system partition of Huawei roms are read-only, you can't do any change without having the right key, so either the developer got help from Huawei, or Huawei is simply behind this. You do a search now and read the whole article.

travstr, 02 Oct 2019well before the NM card they didn't provide any expandable ... moreBecause just about everyone else uses the now very much defacto standard Micro SDXC format, that's why.
Why unnecessarily introduce yet another non standard format into the system, which means more expense for the consumer, when everyone else uses Micro SDXC?
Utterly pointless, other than to increase profit margins as it (unless I'm very much mistaken) has the manufacturing rights to the format.

Today it's Huawei tomorrow it could be OnePlus/Oppo/Vivo or even LG/ Sony Samsung. This is just absurd that a country's President could just block Google services which is now so integrated with work flow of common people without any proof and based on qualms. With Huawei as precedent sometimes I fear that my device services could be the next to be banned just because my country won't be bootlicker of US government.

It's a shame because technically a very well specified phone, just let down by the software and the NM card format (what they were thinking about other than profit margins I do not know!)

WazzaG, 02 Oct 2019That's definitely "game over" for me then. I hope so. When Huawei stops stealing intellectual property to from its international partners, then it is fit to sell their products internationally.
