Seth Setiadha, 03 Oct 2019The article doesn't do fair justification. More about drivi... moreAgreed about the author of the article. Seems they had made up their mind from just the short clip. Pure opinion piece with minimal hard facts

this could actually work with a little redesign- just decrease the bezels all around, especially the sides that will be joined, then also increase the screen size in the process. if they can make it bezel-less for the side that joins and give it zero gap, this may just be a viable alternative to fragile foldables.

Absolutely detest Android, mainly due to Google's involvement, but just can't convince myself to go to an Iphone, which is even worse.
Will take a wait and see attitude with the Duo.
And for all the people knocking the "OMG, wide bezels" design, it isn't designed for those who think they always need the latest whiz bang design which are impossible to hold comfortably.
It is targeted at people who will use it for every-day, productive work, just as was shown in the demo. Will give the Surface Laptop with the AMD Ryzen setup a serious look, and will probably pick up a Neo when it is released.

The article doesn't do fair justification. More about driving everyone's opinion that this phone is sucks. Seems like he hates it so much. I could easily tell by the lack of information that the writer not doing good investigation about the phone. I suppose there are still so many information about the phone could be revealed than just the look.
Then again this foldable phone is better than the easily cracking screen from Samsung or Huawei which need to be treated super gentle

Microsoft demo'ing a phone with android os.it is quite humiliating for a company that produced it's own os Microsoft windows mobile which was effectively overrun by android and ios.i think it's best that Microsoft resort to supporting windows for desktops and laptops rather than wasting money on the mobile market which they have done so in the past.

It is not "full-screen" apps. Maybe we (me and the author) saw different videos. What I saw is that many apps will have "de-coupled" sections of the app. Outlook seems to let you use the right side for email list scroll and left side for reading, for example.

Don't get me wrong. It was a pleasant surprise to see Microsoft finally fold in favour of Android (no pun intended).
But they could have gone any number of ways about this one. Just introduce a regular bar of a phone. Or some such. Foldable Surface ought to have been a Windows x86 device, IMHO.

Am I the only guy who's lamenting the fact that the long rumoured surface phone turns out to be something that "does not" come with desktop windows and "cannot" run x86 apps natively?
Why would they even call it a Surface then?

How much great would be if it comes with one foldable display!! Dual display is very bad and old idea in my opinion! LG already did it and it failed!

Those bezels! In 2020, almost 2021. They should rethink the design.
