acemang, 02 Oct 2019en light us please what is good about this "new" design?Who says that it's good design? I'm saying that article should mostly provide fact and maybe ONLY SOME thought and remarks. Leave the opinion and criticism to the readers. I dislikes this design too but still I feel like the article was too harsh.

acemang, 02 Oct 2019because it's ugly as *****. and it looks more a alpha prod... moreWell I think it looks quite beautiful but that is subjective, if it has the build quality of other surface products I am sure it will feel great.
For the usage and good of the design, more screen estate is always good. I mean thats what foldable phones aim to add, but this way we dont have to get plastic screen like with galaxy fold. Also nice to have protection for the screen by folding it shut. Writing an email/taking notes on one screen while having a pdf on the other or a website with information you need for the email/note would be awesome. So on the go could be perfect when you dont wishto bring up your laptop or tablet.

A product that's even not launched made the writer so negative about it without any hands-on or real life experience from it, is totally unprofessional. And those who are crying over large bezzels on top and bottom there are mechanical parts called hinges which takes space it's not a design choice.

In a few months we'll hear breaking news how the device doesn't sell because it's a stupid design with outdated looks but MS try spinning it as an ecosystem problem or rather lack thereof on mobile.

the article is much too negative and based only on assumptions and early flag raising signals. out of experience: in such an early stage the images we throw to the public are deceptive. for one, at this moment, october 2019, nobody really knows, including the microsoft designers, how this type of devices, smartphones, pads and similar, will look like, so do not bet on those 6 lanes wide highway bezels. 2 more years to wait, a lot to happen and change, we will live, we will see.....

on the move, carrying the tablet to substitute a phone is just bad. (weight and size comes to my mind).
As tablet to be at home is just bad with that cut in the middle. any ipad is 100x better.
this companies are out of ideas or the new generation of RD are worst than ever....or both.

By the end of 2020...will be DOA, bezels and so on will make this device outdated...again maybe this is just an prototype but how they introduce it, it looks the final design

Here I thought Sony is slow with release dates( sony fan here)

Iphone killer more durable if separate screens unlike samsux

Ha it looks those fan renders of the next version of the 3DS... Well that was way before the Switch mini. Probably expensive and too late in the market, typical MS consumer product.

These bezels made me appreciate the bezels on the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It should be scrapped or make the existing displays taller to make use of the empty space that is the bezels.
