It's an Android device has two 5.6” screens and bezels that seem to come straight out of 2012.

By that time Galaxy Fold will be affordable or even better and cheaper foldable phones will be out and any word on pricing?

I think Microsoft may have a shot on this one. Surface is a really good selling product , and now Microsoft have Android on board. Also Microsoft is really good at developing apps to Android.

        Let's wait and see

Good God that is ugly. It's like Microsoft joined in as if it were 2016, not 2019 (and launching in 2020) with those massive iPad bezels

in the future, everyone will own a foldable phone, that s why every oem is releasing extreme curved display phones so the transition between "flat-old phones" to foldable dont be so traumatic !

Windows 10 for Mobile is long dead. Other than Americans gathering data, there's nothing wrong with the Android monopoly as this OS is really tried and true for mobile phones of all sizes and shapes. Don't mention Fuchsia because don't forget that we're disappointed with that too months ago.

This Chip guy didn't like this prototype so much he didn't bother to check his info before posting such a poor article about it.

It's called Surface Neo first and foremost.

Also the images used in the article don't give it true justice, it looks like the device is crap, but check Verge's video on youtube, it's actually sleek for a prototype. Also no mention about Windows 10X nor the magnetic keyboard or what features this brings so far. The whole point of this device and announcement is to obtain feedback so that Microsoft could build on it it's new upcoming dual/foldable line of devices for the end of next year. It doesn't mean it's going to look exactly like that smh...

                Just check https:// www. youtube.com/ watch?v=WrR5KApQnsg Verge's video, it's much more informative.

by rule my kind of work is done using 2 screens. from the looks of it, if equipped with a good soc and enough ram, i'd certainly make good use of a device like this: working on one screen while looking at some schematics on the other, or editing a powerpoint presentation on one side and using the other for browsing on net or internal memory for images to insert in the presentation, a picture on one side and the editing tools on the other, etc, etc.... in this kind of device the phone part is just a secondary, not the main bit. it looks to be more reliable and sturdy than a plastic folding screen, 360 deg folding capability, most likely cheaper than the fancy folding ones. the looks? honestly, I do not give a sh... damn, I need a tool to carry in my pocket and use when I need, not a white taxido to show-off when strolling downtown.

So, this is what it feels like to warp back in time.

Definitely will pass this device. To see Microsoft embracing Google's mobile OS means more monopoly for Google. I just going to keep waiting and see the light for a new viable third mobile OS*.

*Don't mention KaiOS, that's for developing third world country.

Windows phone os would have been better.

Dual screens could possibly be useful, but not these dual screens. It's wide AF.

Microsoft bringing a phone like this in 2019 when we are all looking for foldable is a dead on arrival phone this will be a flope as a company that provides software why run android instead of windows

No wonder Mictosoft mobile business went bonkers, because their R and D is in "another level"

any tablet have split screen..so no need to have 2 screen..just get a bigger display.
