Better to have bad Ultra wide camera than nothing. That is point of this scoring.
Well, you would not use it, but you must have it. What twisted thought.

Google should've used IMX586 while it's popular. More megapixels than IMX363, bigger sensor, etc. Sony can add OIS for that sensor for Google alongside some standalone Dual Pixel Autofocus. They would've get 125 or 130 points.
I guess I rather use GCam for those phones with that sensor. If Google can't do it, XDA can.

Its already bad for providing the minimum, buggy and the list of limiting features like no jack no slot. PLUS high priced compared to competitors.

the reason itscored that way is because you get bonus points for having a default ultra wide and ToF sensors. Not because the actual camera is bad.
"The Pixel 4 remains slightly behind such recent top performers as the Huawei Mate 30 Pro (131 points), largely due to the lack of both an ultra-wide camera and a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor. These omissions put the Google’s device at an immediate disadvantage compared to the triple- and quad-cam devices in our wide-angle and bokeh testing, and that affects its overall ranking."

The lost pounts because of wide angle camera...if u dont use wide angle shots ...the main camera is comparable with the rivals..

And, to get 4 major updates is not very hard if you know how to flash custom roms. For me, 2 major android updates is more than enough because I always buy new phone every 1-2 years to try new tech. Fast android updates are also not a good thing. My phone is on android 10 for 2 months and still some apps I am using don't support android 10.

First, I'm not a pixel fan. However, single score is misleading. DxO gives extra point for WIDE CAMERA which Pixel 4 and 4 xl DOES NOT HAVE WIDE ANGLE LENS. If you compare each detail score for Pixel 4 and One plus 7 pro, you will find very similar scores for both. Lastly, I feel like the headline is bashing S10+ camera. IMO, S10+ camera is not bad at all. Not iphone 11 or Huawei good but still quite good.

Pixel 4 didn't have any wide angle lens, which has a separate score in a dxomark test.
For S10+, the photo score is 120, with an additional score of 38 for the wide angle lens. Pixel 4's photo score is 117, with 0 wide angle score added.
