Any market model in which suppliers only benefit by harming their customers and society isn't fit for purpose. The pervasive surveillance and ad ecosystem is cancerous.

this is not to defend google, rather the free market as a whole. google's services is for free and all they ask in return is your information that is valuable to the ad market. the immense leaps google led in everything about computing is indespensable and could not be relegated to just this tiff with huawei over android and google mobile services. huawei recognizes this fact so all they can do is concede. android has become indespensable, and apparently unbeatable as well as evident of the failed alternative oses pitted against it over the years. google will eventually become even so much more ingrained into our lives with its unparalleled advances in ambient computing, whether you like it or not. the project fuschia is years ahead in the competition into weaving an os that can manage every single machine that we use- no other company has made these advances. yes, monopoly is bad, but unlike in china, the west especially the united states have checks and balances in place to make sure this is not being abused. you can say all you want that both the u.s. and china (and the companies between them) spies, but it it boils down to which country is using and treating your information the ethical way. with the united states, your information stored is only being used to serve you targeted ads and to help machines learn about you so it could enhance your experience with devices and services. this may also be true with china, but in addition to it they also use your information for censorship, propaganda, forced organ donorship, contact data mining, and many other bad things the ccp can benefit from. all in all, this is about the good and the bad and both countries had their share on these; depending on the country you are on the mileage of benefits between these two countries vary, and from where i am at we more lean to the united states.

All I am saying is that people are making dumb comments like if Google Play services exists your device has better security while Huawei with Huawei mobile services will be spying on them while Google won't.

The reason other countries have nukes is because of mutually assured destruction. North Korea is the kind of country that would send missiles out to everyone just because they feel like it since the leader doesn't care about his own destruction.

People are forgetting that first and foremost Huawei is a business and its main purpose is generating money. Creating a new OS might be something doable, but will it generate them a profit? Probably not. Why force the company to go to another OS when Android already is the most successful OS around the world? When its open source and USA cannot restrict Huawei from using it?
All they have to do is make it as easy as possible for developers to publish their Google content on Huawei's App Gallery. Given that the OS is Android and the chip architecture is TSCM which most OEMS use then it should be very easy, right?

Wanna entice more 3rd devs in Huawei? Sure! Just reinstate bootloader unlocking and provide quality kernel sources + docs. There's enough xda devs talent out there willing to help fix this entire gapps + GMS mess.
But nooooo... Huawei won't let anyone unlock their hard earned money spent on their expensive Mate phones' bootloader and flash anything over EMUI right? That's the only reason why Huawei previously abandoned and relocked all newer phone rels.
I really wonder why.
