Screen of Xperia 1 has more value than whole K20 Pro.

Well sony can sell its phone bussiness and create only a parts for a cellphones and TV and the rest of devices.
Its should be a lot better for them.
The whole Sony device is too expensive but not even a inch better from any other chinese brand.

I think that sony lost its identity, this is why sales are falling. Before it has the real compact phones, it created the r800/xperia play phone, it created the ULTRA phones. now it just follow others. copy the same design. Now all phones look the same. give some diversity to the people. Also sony made some big mistakes (ex crippling X compact when removed the uhd video rec function).

They only sell through online, no marketing so they don't need to built physical store no need maintenance cost and doesn't even need to pay its employee, this can reduce cost significantly. Then they don't need to advertise their products, just using online to make it viral, post it on their fb or twitter, or on forum, then they sent some sample products to reviewers, its far more cheap than creating and put advertising on TV. With these strategy they can cut their product price significantly, like warehouse cost, distribution cost, marketing etc because all of these cost are covered from the unit sales.
This is why Huawei and BBK (parent of vivo and oppo) created another subsidiary like honor and oneplus.

Mobile divisi... moreThe way you have said it, sounds like Sony's Mobile Division actually has a lot of potential.
If the Xperia 1 is a product of Sony engineers playing around and not taking the challenge seriously, then that's only indicative of what more could they do if they will take the game seriously and competitively.
In that case, it excites me more to see what Sony will bring in the future, as their continuously compelling products continue to sell even in their worst situations.
If this was another company, they'd have given up already.
LG, HTC, Motorola, and Sony. Among them, it is no secret that Sony is the only mobile brand that's still continuously competing against the giants on their own feet.
LG barely makes it good enough to be as competitive as the competition is trying. HTC, well we already know what they're up to. Motorola needs Lenovo's help to survive.
Sony - here they are! Making unique products that still appeal to many people, most especially the professional ones, and selling nothing but great quality phones over the years of being in the doldrums.
I wish next year they'd compete even more and have their first turnaround after some defeat against the big brands and the rise of Chinese low-price but average level phones.

Sony is a premium brand but most people are not aware of their quality cell phones, for example like well known Apple iohones due to marketing.
Plus, Japan quality vs china low cost cells is not even close in quality. And addition c phones have no software support after 1st yr of cell being released.

My Sony Xperia Z3 still works fine. Also our Sony smart TV works fine. My PS1 and PS2 gaming consoles both worked fine until I sold it. And also I'm listening music now with my budget Sony headphones which was 100 dollars. So far so good. I'm satisfied for all my Sony products.

Like they are between an M3 (tunned) with almost same performance as an Ferrari, but ar less then half of price. All that matters is if you are able/want to pay for those extra details and If really need them

Explain us why there are flagships with retail price of $400 , while just the components of other cost more than that.
Hardware alone of iphone 11 pro max is $490. The retail price of Nubia Z20 is $520.
Don't you think weird the fact flagships from Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Zte cost above $700, but from Xiaomi, Nubia, Honor and OP are cheaper?

The problem with Xperia or indeed any other high-end flagship-tier smartphone brand is that there are an abundance of similarly spec smartphones for less than half the price, especially with the Chinese like Xiaomi. Remember Pocophone F1? People would think on why spend more when you can have equal spec for much less.
