The 48MP is their highest resolution.

Mobile division is Sony's Toy
They just love to play with it, even with no profit
because money floods from every other divisions

I think gsmarena has used incorrect wording, considering PS 4 has sold 102 million ps4 over the past 6 years to become the 2nd highest selling home console ever (just overtook wii as ps) and they sold around 12 million within the last 12 months, the sales are maturing rather than decline, they also expect to sell another 10 million by end of 2020, by then as expected,3rd iteration of ps4 is expected just like ps3 and ps2 which had 3 iteration over their lifespan

With that so many division, Sony are doing well. But apparantly their mobile segment are not.
Eventhough still not considered as the top dogs currently, starting Xperia 1 direction, it climbs up on the right way & hopefully more improvements on their 2020 lineup.

As long other brands keep buying Exmor, Sony will have money to keep Xperia.
If they wanted to get rid of it, they would have done already same way they sold Vaio.

I though sales would decline because many phones are using Isocell 48MP and 64MP.
Brands like Xiaomi, Meizu and BBK will surely use the 108MP one.
