It is unbelievable how some people speak without having any clue about the subject. how can you say BB smartphones are crap> And why would you wish them dead if you never used or liked their products?
Not everybody needs touch screen and the best MP3 player. Some people still need a good business phone that can deliver on the most important aspect of it's purpose - phone calls. Unlike Androids who cave in after 1/2 day heavy use.
And safety. No app on BB gathers info about you, wgat you like, where you go, as Apple and Google do.
And about "the stone age qwerty" vs swipe, a BB user with 1 year experience can tipe significantly faster then any touch screen enabled device.

Thanks to Indonesian people keep buying BB, or they maybe already bankrupt now. They need to bring the price down, they're stupidly expensive for no reason. $200 tech is sold $350 by them, not counting more bill taken by BBM and BIS.

Actually every 3rd party app collects lot of data and steve jobs at D8,2010 also admitted iPhone even being closed platform , most 3rd party apps take lot of data than what is required.
And added to that ads popping up over internet etc also have impact , Facebook too tracks u and tracks what websites u visited before log in to facebook etc.
Everybody tracks but google does it little openly unlike apple who secretly try to cover things.
Everyone knows Google Ads need lot of people's data to give better Ads and better income for them by giving user info to these companies.

so sad i like BB i have tried so many other OS such iOS, Android, Symbian & Windows Mobile they all great except the Symbian (Not personal favorite) but i always come back to BB and i think one of the main reason is the Appworld most of the free apps of iOS and Android you have to pay for in BB, currently i'm using 9900 despite all the negativity that i heard before buying it but turned out to be great phone, i also have BB Playbook its great but the downside is since the day of release they promise Arabic language support now it's been a year and nothing happen update after update and nothing!!! this is very basic feature why would you sell a device in region that you not willing to support their native language... i lot of local companies were upset and lost a lot of money due to this issue and a lot of consumers walk away from Playbook and they have every rights to do so
i wish BB will learn from theirs mistakes and things be better for them

Technology is moving fast in Smartphone and social media.
Touch response should be fast.
As a device a choice of corporate security or individual user level security is a good option to have.
RIM need to go aggressive and go for volumes. Especially younger user segment.
This way you can address both corporate and individual markets.

If they join the real world and stop producing old outdated devices that would fit in well on Noah's Ark they might stand a chance.

problem with RIM is their BIS is totally Bullsh#t. It is an expensive service, but offers internet speed like a snail..it takes more than 20 minutes to open a gsmarena page (ehem..it keeps on displaying network error). Their technology really lags behind the competition. What can they do? They will really need to improve their internet service first! they also need to catch up with quad core tech and good graphics, whilst they might argue that corporate ppl do not play game, speedy internet and good graphics will also mean well function map, which i found that their map is totally useless, they can't even do streetview (lack of graphic support?).

"The company has been an important player in the mobile business for too long and it would be really sad if it went bankrupt or relegated to the role of an also-ran."
Frankly, nobody gives a damn. People know Blackberries only in US and UK. In rest of the world BBs hav been marginal products with few fans.

BB has lost its niche to a lot of apps with whatsapp bein d most visible.data bundles r bcomin cheap n mst mobile ntwks r improvin their ntwk strength..wat u hav is smartfones wit cheap data bundles n chat appas dat r even beta than BB.so if everyone cn chat, then y do i nid a BB? honestly,BB has to do more and hav a consumer focus rethink.
