Whereas the Google mobile services include google account, mail, contact sync services, maps services used by many apps other than Google, like Uber, restaurants, and many more. YouTube app. On the whole, all apps relying on Google APIs to work will cease to work

Wasn't Turkey one of the countries which like China restrict access to the www?
I mean they don't want their people to have unrestricted access to the internet. Maybe that's why.

Google Play Store is what you w... moreAlmost right, but you were writing more about Google'sown apps or GAPPS, Google services is programs used by some apps to function. For example, your bank app needs one of Google's certificate to work, same goes for Netflix app, some maps are made by using Google set of tools, all of that is in that Google services.
That is what is biggest problem for competitors...f.e. Huawei have to make it's own set of services and certification, and to get all developers use it in their apps, even though most of that apps are android apps, they need certification or to connect to one of services to function as it should.

Though turkey is ruled by a party comparing well to Trump's, Putin's etc., I don't understand google in this particular case. They own a worldwide monopoly which is against the law in many countries. As I understand it: It's no problem having the default search set to google - they just need to make it changeable. How many manufacturers or user would change this option anyway? Like 1%? It would be another story if turkey would force manufacturers to switch to another default search engine - but this would be against the law in itself...google - do the wrong thing. With Huawei being held back by Trump administration and google's decision to work against turkey (and often EU) laws - let's hope they don't lose the indian market or we will see an android replacement wuite fast...I'm actually waiting for it!

"users still couldn’t pick a default search engine". Default? Users pick a search engine. Phone companies pick a default search engine. Would have been nice to know why Google disallowed the change.

Google Play Store is what you would call "Google Store" or their App that gives you access to download Androids Apps, Games etc, and Google Mobile Services consists of Google Apps that is Google Chrome, Youtube, Google Search etc.

There are many alternatives to Google and it would be good if the choice of tools to use were made by the user and not by the companies.Even if there were different operating system options,it would be more than interesting.I avoid as much as I can use Google services.
