Quite disappointed there is no option to switch to mi messaging app in redmi note 9s but I was relieved that transferring the file from old phone to new one allowed phone to read messages using Google's messaging app

I have never used a Redmi phone before and the only reason I bought the Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global Version) three days ago instead of Samsung M31 is because of the mistaken belief that it has call recording feature on the call interface. I could also have bought Infinix note 7 for a lesser amount as it satisfies my needs. Xiaomi should please do something about this as well as her MIUI 11 LAUNCHER ( no app drawer, you cannot use the plus (+) sign to add apps to an existing folder unless you drag the apps). HIOS launcher is better than this.
Barring this, the phone is good, no other drawbacks at all and I do not wish to regret the purchase .

This would be a great failure with respect to global marketing if the mid range mobiles for the middle class would be without pre installed auto call recording, messaging and call apps.

This is really disappointing. I really don' like the Google variants and I really don't understand why Xiaomi would sacrifice the MiUI ecosystem for such requirements. Just remove or disable the offending features from the apps that violate EU privacy laws. I hope Xiaomi is listening and will bring them back in MiUI 12.
I've tried downloading the Xiaomi apk's for Dialer/Contacts, Messages and Calendar. Gladly most of them seem to work pretty good except Messages does not. It keeps crashing immediately. Messages is particularly dissapponting as I have a full backup of all of my messages in MiCloud that I now can not restore to my new device. Hate this. Really do. A very very bad decision.

Xiaomi Phones are popular among its fans mostly for the software and to me for it is my favourite due to its call and SMS software which offer call recording, auto call recording and the call history in which we can easily search the previous record of the phone numbers even if it is not stored in our phone-book. In the "Redmi note 8 Pro" this option is missing which is a great astonishment for the Xiaomi users. it is strongly recommended that this useful feature may please be added/restored in the phones.

Xiaomi should please return back miui dialer amd messaging apps to note 8 pro. I not liked google dialler and messaging and contact apps

am recently using Redmi note 8. the phone is classy only thing is call recording issue.
call records on mp3 format instead of amr format which increases the size of saved call and am not able to transfer it on any social media due to bigger size.
I requested several time for developers to change the format but yet not solution has been credited of my request. over all phone is excellent..

I'm really dissapointed about the new google pre default apps. They did a big mistake, this is my last time buying a phone from them. I bought a few, but they really f*** up this time. Better pay more for what you want, than less and having some ugly 2000 looking no function google apps.

I just bought today a Note 8 Pro, and i'm really dissapointed because of the missing of MIUI apps. It's a good phone for it's price but i can buy a more expensive one instead of having those ugly Google apps :)
