Anonymous, 08 Jan 2020What you described here is close to impossible to engineer ... moreand also where did u complain about price and also i beg to differ those specs are dropping in price here in US even qhd top of the line phones been dropping to about 650 700 because the next phones from samsung and such are about to release, so phones with just full hd and a 855 like the pixel 4a, 10e, 10 lite, etc are all gonna the even cheaper equivalent or in that price range too

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020it is also useless to make big phones, those from Samsung, ... moreWhat you described here is close to impossible to engineer and I doubt you are willing to pay $1,000 plus for such device cause that's exactly how much it would be with all those bells and whistles you've listed.
Second OLED will not save you battery unless you are running at very dim brightness, most of the time people have their screens blasting at max brightness so there is no power efficiency benefit. Ambient sensor also wastes battery so you might want to turn it off if battery life is your concern.

To perfectly fit 70% of the content avai... moreThat is my problem. Im watching media mainly on my tablet, most of the content im watching on my smartphone is on YouTube, 16:9 and 18:9 ratio.
Every time new xperia gets released im searching for a reason to justify my purchase, but there is always something of with almost every generation.
Z5 weak battery and cpu issues,
xz plastic frame,
xz premium huge bezzels,
xz2 bad fp placement,
xz3 to much rounded display corners.
Maybe it's gonna be different with this one:)

After some design missteps that's Sony's stable performance again. The jack's there, the flagship SoC's there, and Sony's proper looking slightly retro modernist design. IMO it would at least tempt the fans to upgrade.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2020Probably not true 960fps , like the one from chinese brands... moreTrue. Only Sony and Samsung can do hardware 960fps. Huawei does it the Twixtor way - optical flow frame interpolation. Not that it makes any difference in quality, Sony and Samsung need tons of light, can't shoot more than what few milliseconds but more importantly scene you are shooting really needs something that happens truly fast like waterfall or fire sparks cause if you don't have fast moving particles it looks just like 120fps scene. It's very niche. Cool to have but useless most of the time just like that astrophotography or 10x zoom.

You can record at 30 and plays at 960 easily.
The 960fps from Sony and Samsung is because of the type of sensor.

Hopefully this is an indication of a future design trend. By trend I mean keeping the headphone jack and front firing speakers.
My only gripes with this phone are, is it's too big. I prefer the 5.0"-5.5" form factor. Also if you want to nit pick the asymetrical size of the front firing speakers is also a bit distracting. Either make them both the same size as the bottom, which imo would be ideal or the top not as ideal due to dead center placement and easy to cover with hand. If this is Sony's smallest form factor for the new models I may have to just bite the bullet and upgrade from my XZ1.

Makimaki, 07 Jan 2020Sony always lacked something. Hardware wise. Never lacked a... moreXperia 1 and 5 do 10fps with AF/AE. No other phone does, not any brand.
This with 30 calculations per second.
Hardware cant do it at 48MP. There is a trade off, speed or resolution. It is why sport cameras have less than 30MP.
I would love to see 20MP again, but there are limitations of what hardware can do.

And there is the possibility this device is not the main Xperia of 2020.
I think this is the one internet calls 1.1 ....
And what if Xperia 0 is real?
Would be above this ....
