Nokia marketing strategy is like having a super dupe gf @ his right arm and is more interested in the mediocre one walking down the street... MeeGoo is one of best and simplest OS on a phone and even though Nokia headed straight to windows phone os pfffff don't be surprised that your super duper gf leaves you alone :p

I think the problem with WP is that it doesn't have any stand out features that help set it apart and make people want to give it a try.
I have just upgraded my handset on the weekend and whilst I was in the phones4u store going through my options (that included the Iphone 4s, Htc One X and S, Sony Xperia S etc) I also asked to be shown the Lumia 800.
Now don't get me wrong I was quite impressed with the 800 without ever being even remotely interested in choosing it.
WP is slick and quite aesthetically pleasing sure, but there is just nothing stand out about it, the same as goes 800 itself which features fairly mid-range hardware (for 2012 standards)
Nokia have failed to both produce and market any WP handsets that stand out far enough from the rest of the pack to be noticed. This failure is particularly bad considering that WP itself has not had much of an impact in the market.

New Nokia Lumias are horrible handsets. WP has worst battery live from all smartphone OS, the smallest number of applications, worst hardware and very high price compared with the yeard old HW specs.

Funny how the comments come from mysterious executives working for European carriers.
Better than expected Lumia sales are hurting bread and butter profits that carriers were getting from the sale of iphones/androids.
sell 1 million Lumia's - $25 profit margin/handset = $25m
sell 1 m androids/iphones - $50 profit margin/handset = $50m
Fortunately for Nokia, moving production to China will have a huge impact on their profitability.
These carriers are full of crap when they talk about wanting more competition; The only thing they're concerned with is increasing profits

I do not agree, The Nokia Lumia is a great phone and everyone I know who has had a windows phone handset has loved it. Also the Nokia Lumia 900 so far has only had one bug found unlike most android phones where 1000's of bugs are found a day with no fixes for months or at all. Also some of the bugs on android are more catastrophic like the bug on the motorola atrix that causes it to black screen and reset if it has to change networks or samsung S2 where changing from HSDPA+ network to HSDPA causes the phone internet to stop working and you have to restart your handset.

How can these phones be competetive when the Lumia 900 which is about to ship in Europe has same specs as a year old Galaxy S II, can't recorde 1080p video etc? It's Windows Phone at fault here and this was a bad decision by Nokia to go with Windows Phone at this stage of its (im)maturity.
It would be better for Nokia to stick with MeeGo, now if the want any feature to be implemented they have to beg Microsoft first so how can you be effective and innovative working this way? With Android you have the source code that you can tweak, change, etc. but with WP - no way.
