Lumias aren't competitive enough, say European carriers

17 April, 2012
The high price tags, mediocre marketing plans and some software issues are to blame.

      I agree.
Only one loss, and on The windows Phone forum said he cheated by having it configured to win that challenge
      against the Windows Phone.
Guys in that forum say Windows phone is the best anyway.

I believe, nokia can't do something good. just look at what they are doing? Nokia is playing. Can't you write symbian to support high resolution, even pc version and put it on high specs. Symbian have about 200 million fans, maintaining them is better than losing 2thirds of them. I hate that 640x360. Be serious nokia.

You can't even sync and update them using Nokia Suite. And a Nokia Android doesn't seem like Nokia either. Meego is the only rightful OS that Nokia should run on their smartphones.

Nokia should make one high end android phone and see how it goes.

The reason android has been so successful, is because it offered something Apple did not. Genuine multi tasking, flash, and it is open source just to mention a few. In order for the Windows platform to get more market share it must offer something new, other than nice tiles. Equally, Nokia can not compete with samsung and HTC technology wise, therefore Windows is a good compromise. Even Sony are lagging behind.

The Man, 17 Apr 2012Totally true why would anybody buy Nokia? -They made their... moreYou can criticize Windows Phone all you want but in the speed department, almost every (Android) phone out there was smoked by Windows Phone. WP on single core is actually faster than Android on dualcore.
The 808 camera's full resolution is indeed 41MP but the effective resolution is 38MP. You can't use all those pixels in imaging.
And the 808 actually has dual GPU, not dualcore GPU. Dual GPU means two seperate GPU's, one for the OS and the other dedicated for the camera alone.
The Lumia 900 is deemed by most tech sites as the best-designed phone right now. Even their entry-level dumbphones have better design and built than Samsung's smartphones.
And Nokia definitely don't copy. The fact that they are not using Android and do not follow others' trends prove that.

There is not an ounce of truth to what you posted.

To say that they won't spend money marketing Windows phone because no one asks for it is ridiculous. It's a new operating system and no one really knows about it yet, that's why they are not asking for it. By all accounts it is doing very well in the U.S. and the majority of people who use the OS like it. With that point of view we would never have invented the wheel.

They need to market it and inform people about it and then let them make up their own mind. It's better for them if they are not just tied down to Android and Apple anyway, more competition is better for all in this instance, except obviously Apple and Android.

By the way I use HTC/Android and have since the first phone came out. But still I think what this guy said is idiotic.

"If the Lumia with the same hardware came with Android in it and not Windows, it would be much easier to sell."

Amen to that. There is simply not enough apps on the windows marked and it is just as locked down as iOS.

I am using lumia 800 , and havent seen any lags since 10 days . It is great and fun to use ,battery lasts at least 1.5 days , with everything on wifi & data never switched off. Has a great screeen menus are classy .
You ll see Windows apps and phones when Win8 tablets will enter the market , only 100$ androids will sell. If you look at the world 90% of pc's are windows. So stop complaining.

                              It`s all about the pricing:

"The Lumia 900 might be selling like hot cakes at AT&T's camp across the ocean" (Low price)," but things don't look so bright for Nokia in Europe" (High price).

                              That`s it.

The issue in continental Europe is that you need to buy a phone outright, and not as part of a plan. All Windows phones are relatively low tech., for almost the same price as a high end android.

QUAD CORE ANDROID PLATFORM 16 MP CAMERA 32 GB STORAGE HANDSET AND BOOM! NOKIA BACK ON TOP!
