Waze would be a better, more modern & popular choice in my opinion. Real-time feedback is the key to new navs.

Consumer2, 19 Jan 2020Congratulations Huawei for the Maps. This was a nice Move. ... moreYeeeeah exactly, from a company that's accused for many reasons of spying, and you think they'll do a slogan against Spyware, where they themselves are the no 1 spyware.
No wonders US banned them, and many European countries are thinking to.
p.s. before you get angry I'm not from USA, I'm not brainwashed, and I'm actually from Macedonia.

I think its a good move. Before I moved to Android, my old car came with TT installed. Was very good and always up-to-date in "Live" mode. I'm sure Huawei will develop it further for the mobile market. G Maps excels in in user data giving accurate traffic congestion, but HERE maps would be my favorite just for it on screen interface when driving. Shame it doesn't work with Android Auto.

Great! Good to break the "power" of big companies like google and idiots as trump!

All the best to Tom Tom and Huawei!

LEEDAQ, 19 Jan 2020can they even make out of the Chinese market? In the last couple of months, Huawei only recycling their older phones, with same Android version, and same SoC, just differente name, because, new phones does not have certification for GServices, thats why in China, Honor 9x get Kirin 810, and in the couple western market it's a with old Kirin 710f. I hope Huawei will resolve this, soon.

I remember few years back my parents were asking me to update their old TomTom and I just couldn't figure out why they don't just use Gmaps or any other phone app instead of this old, slow and unresponsive navigation... If I were to bet back then I'd say they'd just go out of bussiness by 2020, but here they are, signing a contract with 2nd largest smartphone manufacturer in the world...

TomTom, is that still even used anymore? Seriously.

TomTom, it is expected to deliver a highly negative earnings growth in the next few years, which doesn’t help build up its investment portfolio, so, Huawei's interest in the Netherlands company - as they both share similar fate - may serve more than just a partnership.

LEEDAQ, 19 Jan 2020can they even make out of the Chinese market?Uhmm. Did you just got out of Area 51?

LEEDAQ, 19 Jan 2020can they even make out of the Chinese market?Lmao seriously. Get back under that rock.

Congratulations Huawei for the Maps. This was a nice Move. it's time also to bring up Your own OS ( IOS and Android are Monopoly and the smartphone business its too big for only two OS). If you bring your own OS and suported - With no Spyware ( as IOS and Android do) and you will emphasise in this no Spyware, optimized for your Own Platform( then your smartphone business, it will be a huge success). No Control From Google anymore, enough is enough. Google stops technology evolution ( and spy people with its softaware). People wants an alternative solution.( Your marketing campaign will be : no more Spyware.)
