Plus, some experts say that newer android phones are actually harder to get into. But of course, Google doesn't stuff people into suitcases and take their money :)

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2020Enjoy leaking your data to ChinaEnjoy leaking your data to Google, Facebook and many other greedy US companies. They're all stealing your private data, just to sell it to advertisers, NSA and whoever else wants it. This is happening RIGHT NOW.

There is still NO PROOF WHATSOEVER for Chinese spying. Even after almost a year that the President of Trumpistan invented the spying charges against Huawei, no proof whatsoever has been presented - because there isn't any!

There is, however, plenty of proof of US spying on anyone they can, US citizen or not, just see Edward Snowden etc.

Akaike, 22 Jan 2020Lol even Samsung “lite” phones are expensive. What a greed... moreLol, everyone knows that Apple makes the most & takes the most money from it's customers, by far.

Really curious to see if they finally manage to put the f-ing buttons in reachable locations for human beings. I bet that if they do it, the fingerpring sensor will be moved to the top side or some other stupid location, because that seems to be their thing with the latest generations of flagships.
You'll probably have to jump 3 times, spin around 6 times and rub the phone against your butt cheek to unlock it in a few generations...

Remember we'll still use 3G for the next 5 years or so. Damn, providers are putting you on LTE several times per day so stop with the 5G dreams. Also iPhones are special phones for special people, to be honest I don't know why they dropped buttons instead of adding one for each function: call press call button, email press email button hahaha simple.

However, a lot is changing within Apple that is not visible to their die hard fans and the media who still love them. Sales numbers have taken over and customer service pushed to the sidelines.

Maybe they are also aware you can't keep fools parting with their money forever.

That is a fact.... moreidk why but people talk like it is easy to make an upgrade, even if it is simpler apple has another system and another hardware, of course it is going to take time to make upgrades, unlike samsung or other smartphone brang they use android and they dont make their own chips and other things.

Whoever wants to buy the snapdragon 865 needs, read it as mandatory, to buy and pair it with the X55 modem which is 5G capable. The companies buy it as a bundle; they can't use it with any other external modem.

After a week u won't remember anyt... moreThe matter is that for a proper flagship, you don't need to spend and gift those $700 extra to whatever brand. Better profit that money for you. For whatever thing you want. And with those $700 you can do and buy a lot of extra things. Even for your new phone, like buy cases, display protectors, an extra pair of earbuds to always have one charged, a charger for your car, a new smartwach too and you'll still have enough money for a more modest dinner and celebrate all you bought and have fun with all that.

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2020Few weeks ago I talked to someone that works for a company ... moreOnly Partially true.

Sony makes the most sensors for smartphones (Samsung is fast catching up though), and sensor readout speeds are forever increasing. I would love to see an 18-30MP sensor do Full Res 120fps or higher (which should be possible with onboard DRAM and/or re-designed circuitry). This could seriously improve image quality. But, to get the most out of it, it would also require vastly improving SoCs to have much faster readouts and writing, way better Computational Photography algorithms and many improvements to the ISP etc. Also, drastic improvement in smartphone lens design and handling the light and detail loss caused by the Bayer Pattern.

From the look of things, smartphones won't be beating DSLRs or Mid and High end ILCs, for atleast another decade, atleast not with some seriously drastic changes to the whole imaging development perspective.
